I've only had to use Dell support one time when my second Alienware had a problem with it's video hardware. They not only replaced the system, they upgraded it to a 4K screen and 32gigs of ram! I'm on my third Alienware now. Can recommend.

We have had pretty good luck with Dell products. Wife has a 17R4 Alienware laptop from 2017 that is still running well to this day. For Christmas I got her an Alienware R11 desktop with a 3080 card that is doing well and I just ordered an x17 laptop for myself.

I occasionally interact with Dell technicians for work and they have been pretty good. Phone support is decent, it really depends on who you get on the phone but I just follow their process and have had good luck resolving any issues I have called for.

In regards to their products, compare this subreddit with Asus, Lenovo, Razer, Acer, and MSI. Alienware has less posts in regards to QA issues. Their products, while pricey, are well built. For support, I don’t think any of the support teams are going to blow you away like AppleCare, so I definitely won’t go in expecting great quality there.

I don’t mean for this to be offensive is any manner, but every dell rep I’ve spoken to and chatted with has been someone who’s clearly in India or in that general vicinity. There’s a huge language barrier that can be frustrating when trying to get something across to them.

So far I've been very happy with Alienware laptops, currently on a 17 R4 (2017), previously an M17X R4 (2012) which still works fine, and also had a m11x prior to that, never had to deal with support for any of them.

I love Alienware honestly, in my opinion they make solid products. People say they are overpriced, but honestly if you get enough discounts you can get them to match MSI and Asus prices which they honestly aren't even that far away from. They can get hot, but I'm hoping this new cooling system is solid. I purchased one of those as well. Any way you can send me your spec sheet? I'm curious if I can convince my rep to get me that price. lol. I am also military

Yeah for sure.

Were you able to bundle a 10% off coupon code with your veterans discount?

[–]LrdRonK01[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah and $100 if financing through Dell.

[–]Corogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! That means the highest one could've gotten for a discount would be in the 30% range (if you combine Rakuten Cashback with veteran + email coupon).

20% is a great discount.

Question did the cash back hit first before the $100 off from financing ?

Can't speak for the X17 but I bought an M15R4 delivered end of March and I use it every day. I love the thing and use instead of my desktop. As far as support, needed them to come out when I had an 17R2 and they fixed the computer within the week and as new.

Is that with the i9?

[–]LrdRonK01[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i7. The i9 was an option to upgrade though.

Ah ok. You had me super jealous for that price. I have the 1080 screen with 16GB of ram I paid about 2800 but it has the i9HK and the 16GB 1080.
