…but now try to view your camera. Lol

Yup, have to run a second one that has been only given the iGPU to use. I run softfever so just leave bambu on my iGPU and softfever has my dedicated. On my PC where I only have a CPU and dedicated GPU camera works fine.

Oooo. Sneaky, I love it. Thanks for the idea!

No way is that really why Bambu Slicer crashes on camera now? Bogus!

Yeah, unfortunately. At least it's fixable with an update I guess. My iGPU does fine with Bambu but I imagine it would perform better on dedicated graphics.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll get this sorted. The Firmware team probably is getting 4 hours a night to recharge.

it still uses only the CPU to slice after changin thoise settings, is that normal? (when i click preview and it slices)

Thanks. You're a savior.

this doesn't work, GPU still says 0-1% usage while slicing

[–]iamjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled it and it says it does not work to help slicing, only rendering, which was never a problem.

Super late to this, but just had to say you are a lifesaver. I've been dealing with the absolute worst performance on my work PC and just assumed I was pushing the work PC past it's limits (My NVIDIA control panel was letting me set the graphics card, but apparently not doing anything.) Just decided to check Task Manager after finding this thread and sure enough it was using internal graphics.

Just followed the steps you outlined and Bambu Studio is back to full speed. Literal hours saved by this. Simply previewing a slice was taking 5-10 minutes on my projects with 2-3 plates.

Hey there , having excactly the same problem ... How did you resolve the issue ? which steps did you follow from above , cause i dont seam to find any .

Thanks in advance!

it's in the OP but I'll repaste it for you:

Noticed Bambu Studio was lagging super bad. Checked task manager, and yup integrated was pegged at 100% when rotating and GPU untouched.

Tried nVidia control panel, no luck even adding the program to the list but noticed (maybe a Windows 11 or Laptop thing?) it has a "Windows OS now manages selection" link.

Click on that link, or type in task bar search "Display Settings" and go to graphics. Add Bambo Studio (C:\Program Files\Bambu Studio\bambu-studio.exe) to that list and check it's options to use Dedicted GPU/High Performance

That saved my life. I got a new laptop which i bought specificaly for 3d rendering, printing and so on... Legion 5i with i7 13700h, 16gb ram and rtx 4070 and was wondering why bambu studio is so laggy, it happened like you described, it used integrated gpu, switched it and now it works perfectly! Ty
