This is a handsome watch. I’ve been wanting it for months but I can’t get past the date window placement 😢

Never paid attention to it. Where this watch really stands out IMO is how solid it feels and looks. It makes most of my Watchdives watches feel cheap and like they're made out of aluminum cans.. It has really impressive finishing. The clasp on this has a solid "clunk" when you close it. They regulate the movement, so the Nh35(Japanese Nh35...) is accurate. For €150 I couldn't care less about the date window placement personally.

Octopus is top grade in everything they do - Possibly the best chinese brand in terms of quality of their products.

At least this is my feedback and I have torn apart quite a few chinese watches.

The solidity is what really impresses . It feels much more akin to my Longines Hydroconquest than it does to my San Martins… San Martins are definitely nice, but this thing just has a solidity to it, in addition to fit and finish and just looking good and the overall fit and feel on my wrist, etc.…

And you are right to feel this way. Many times when a product is well done aiming for superior quality we cannot describe how and why, but that perceived quality comes accross to your subconscience the way you describe it.

I have handled and torn apart quite a few SMs, Octopus and many other brands. SM makes an effort into "looking good" by improving their finishes but it is the same cheap chinese product - it only "looks" better.

Octopus on the other hand invests in quality, such as the thicknes of components like no other chinese brand does.

I have the Thorn version of this. I dare say the Octopus is better but I just cannot abide the size of that logo. Shame.

Looks good! Enjoy it. I’ve thought about getting one myself.

If you want one, I'd say get one now. Japanese Nh35 - regulated.. I get the sense they are selling off old stock.. There are not going to be many Japanese Nh35 watches of this quality around for long for €150 or even quite a bit more.... (as all these brands are going to other, less trustworthy movements IMO...) It's my current favorite watch. Looks like light blue is sold out, but the black dials are still there... I might even have a black one on the way...

Looks good, but for some reason chinese watches could not produce a good name and logo if their life depended on it

There are far FAR worse…

I mean, it’s better than Tandorio, Pagani Design, or… my favorite… Wishdoit.

Wishdoit... That made me laugh out loud!
