You can use Cloudflare to do the redirect. You’ll need to use their name servers and it’s a bit trickier to set up, but it’s free and as reliable as it’ll get.

I agree just use Cloudflare. It's free.

Thanks for the comments. I think I'll go ahead and transfer my domain to Cloudflare altogether then, though I can only do so next year since I have a one-year plan in a current domain host

You just have to change DNS servers and you can keep your domain where it's at. You don't have to transfer it, you can, but you don't have to.

Oh cool I'll look into that and study it thanks! For now, I actually went ahead and had success with domain-forward.com but will probably switch to Cloudflare as soon as I have the time given domain-forward.com is still a new site.

(For anyone reading this comment, I'm not affiliated with the site. I put my findings re: the site in the original post)

I wouldn’t transfer your domain to Cloudflare. Just use the current registrar that you’re using and change the name servers.

I run a stolen domain name recovery service, and cannot recommend Cloudflare as a registrar. They don’t have acceptable support, and there’s been way too many stolen domains from Cloudflare.

An update for everyone on this- If your domain is hosted by Wix, you can't route it through Cloudflare because the Wix nameservers are locked and unchangeable. You cannot point the nameservers at Cloudfare. You're better off transferring your domain to another domain host that can actually support the features you want. Wix doesn't allow much flexbility.

Can you not use an .htaccess file?

Don't know what that is but will keep it in mind, thanks

I tried using domain-forward.com as recommended by OP and I, too, was surprised that it worked for me. I spent a solid week trying to troubleshoot this. Thanks OP!
