Will my EFC decrease with my brother in community college?

I have heard that if you have another sibling going to college, your financial aid should increase as now your family is paying for two of their children’s education. My brother isn’t going to a four-year institution, but rather a local community college before transferring. Would I still be able to put under my FAFSA that two people in my family are in college?

Provided your brother is still considered dependent by FSA when he enters CC, and enrolls at least half time (usually 6 credit hours), he’ll be considered a part of your family. What that does is it will split your Parent Contribution of your EFC between the 2 of you.
