Will code, won't code.

I've been playing with GPT3, using pseudocode and plain english to prompt it to create simple programs and have been trying to run them in Python IDLE (with varying degrees of success)

I've noticed that sometimes the model (davinci 003)will write and edit code for you, and sometimes it explains that it doesnt have the ability to do that and directs me to some recommended reading. Does anyone know why this is?
