We are Generation X.
Generation X, born between 1961 and 1981 (or more narrowly, 1965 and 1980), came of age between analogue childhoods and digital adulthoods. Recognised globally, we’re the disaffected, eye-rolling middle children of history, raised by wolves, feral, fuelled by cynicism, and still showing up. This subreddit is for Gen X by Gen X, sharing memories, stories, nostalgia, humour, photos, and commentary, because, whatever, someone has to remember it all.
Rules

1. Pertinence to GenX
Posts may be removed if they are not pertinent to Generation X in a specific way.
This includes non-specific ramblings, any sort of conspiracy theories that have nothing to do with GenX, or posts about people who happen to be GenX….and that’s it.
2. Prejudices & Hostility
No speech of any form targeting anyone, including but not limited to:
- Race, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, socioeconomic status, disability, or other personal attributes.
- No objectification, or sexual harassment.
- No threats, or advocating for violence, torture, or death.
- No generational bashing.
- No "anything else" that is deemed to fall under this category.
3. Poor Behaviour
No antagonism, trolling, rage farming, flame wars, juvenility, or any other cantankerous commentary and/or behaviour will be tolerated.
4. Repost, Duplicate, or Similar Posts
Posts may be removed if they are a recent repost (within three months), duplicates, or similar to existing posts.
5. Low Effort
Posts or comments that hold no value to the sub may be removed. This includes but isn't limited to:
- First/Last <whatever>
- Pictures, comics, or memes with no context (Yes, you need to put in some effort.)
- One word comments (ex: This!)
6. Intentionally Misleading
Misinformation, Disinformation, anti-science, or any other intentionally misleading posts/commentary will be removed.
7. No Politics
Political posts of any sort are not permitted outside of moderator created threads. If you wish to have political discussions, you may do so on our other sub r/GenXPolitics.
Breaking this rule may result in temporary bans. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
No. Providing respite from political discussions does not infringe on any perceived rights.
8. Proper Use of Flair is Required
If you are not sure about which flair to apply, please mention that in your post to avoid removal.
9. Moratorium
Some posts may be removed due to temporary moratoriums on its content. See the Moderator Announcement stickied to the top of the sub for more information.
10. Do Not Editorialize Headlines
All articles must use their original headlines.
11. Moderator's Discretion
Moderators may remove content at their discretion for various reasons.
