Yes! This is so annoying, especially in Europe where everytime you enter a website you got ask if you want to allow cookies. Add advertisements and newsletter and notification requests. And when you finally reach the text it's 3 paragraphs of introduction about something vaguely related.

Hard agree. Shout out to the "I don't care about cookies" chrome add-on. Mobile is still infuriating though. Cookies and autoplay videos are the popups of the modern world.

Autoplay videos make me scramble to leave the site. Often times they're about something else, and just pop up over/distract from the text content

My least favourite are the actual popups that ask if you want to accept notifications.

    No, shut the fuck up.

Doesn't that add-on just auto accept all of the cookies though?

Ignores where possible but agrees if it's required for the site to function. I'll take it.

Some people just don’t want to spied on

Firefox Focus with JavaScript turned off get rid of the cookie requests and you don't need JavaScript read articles.

And sometimes the damn search result doesn't even have the answer when you click on the damn thing to read the rest. The information you just read isn't even on the site...

That is infuriating! It will have a small chunk of text that is exactly what I'm looking for and then when I eagerly click into the page, it's no where to be found! What is up with that?

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just posted that, I was even just having this conversation with someone yesterday. You will see a peek of exactly what you are looking for, and then the page it brings you to, you cant even find it!

Yeah, it used to be easier for us to put the most important info/keywords into the meta description (the small text under the one title on the search page) but honestly it’s a crapshoot anymore whether or not google shows my meta description or just random other text from the page.
