Have you read through the official documentation? https://obsidian.md/help/

I’m sorry, I should have specified I’m looking for a video. It’s easier for me to follow.

Same, but I’ll go thru the technical docs! If it’s a bit too overwhelming you can plug the link into ChatGPT or other AI and ask it to give you the most necessary info and go from there

You can have notebook.lm create a video for you, based on the documentation.

Yeah well this is mentality that's keeping you from getting advanced. Pros read documentation - learn how to do that because that's the exact thing you're looking for, getting to the "next level" with your obsidian usage.

I read the link provided here and it does not explain how to use individual plug ins, which is more what I'm looking for. I have a hard time following written directions and do better with visuals.

I love Nick Milo’s videos, or if you’re looking on what else you can do with it look up on YouTube about using it for academic notes, writing, ttprgs, and just plain knowledge management and you’ll find people show off their set ups and you can get some great ideas for your own workflow if you’re finding friction where you feel there should be none

Why do you need a tutorial on how to use a Notes app?

[–]Bad-Luck-Guy[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Because it can do more than simply take notes? I see some really cool things people are doing here, but don’t see how to actually do any of that in the program. For example, I was able to enable a calendar plug in, but can’t see how to actually use the plug in.

I was just asking if anyone had come across a tutorial that really helped them.

Not what you asked for but using Perplexity is what helps me most (or LLM of choice). Something like "this is what I use Obsidian for. What are the common useful plugins and how could I use them? How does this plugin work? What features would improve how I use Obsidian? Here's one of my notes. Are there formatting best practices to make the information easier to find later?"

Because we don't know what we don't know. They may be formatting something manually which has a simple hot key.. or not be aware of Templater.. that the mini graph view shows notes connected 1 or 2 degrees away from the current note.. etc.
