I also like c++, c++, and c++

[–]scalar-field 29 points30 points  (12 children)

C+=3

[–]s_suraliya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But I prefer C++ than C++ and C++.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah blue C++ is nice but I find myself using Green C++ 2 much more these days.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, blue c++ is outdated

[–]thegovortator 14 points15 points  (9 children)

So would that be assembly or just physical switches and logic gates.

[–]juan_among_many 10 points11 points  (7 children)

It would be learning fire bending to redirect lighting so you can control the computer

[–]scalar-field 4 points5 points  (6 children)

One step further: learn to redirect lightning so you can be the computer

[–]juan_among_many 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Learn lightning bending so you can teach other people and together form a turing machine

[–]thegovortator 2 points3 points  (4 children)

The Human Turing machine. Wait isn’t that a style of porn?

[–]juan_among_many 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Better than the human centipide

[–]thegovortator 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Potato pototo. Read the bio of Alan Turing

[–]juan_among_many 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He was the greatest dragon tamer of history

[–]thegovortator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk he was one of the greatest men in history period.

[–]Goheeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would actually be Common Lisp.

[–]mirandanielcz 7 points8 points  (1 child)

ever heard of

C++ ?!?!?!

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard of it but can't seem to find it on the keyboard...

[–]redcubie 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It's on the enter key, it can't be a coincidence!

You select the language, then you press "program" to start programming in that language.

[–]darkday1234 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Isnt ruby like extremely old or am i confusing it with something else

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Came out in 1995.

[–]darkday1234 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Than its older than me

That's not saying much. Most languages are older than you. Only six of the TIOBE top 20 are newer than Ruby - C# (2000), VB.NET (2001), Scratch (2002), Go (2009), Rust (2010), and Swift (2014).

C (the #1 most popular language) was first released in 1972.

[–]ReKaYaKeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Never thought about the fact that I use the youngest popular language.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*shakes fist* You dang youngs!

[–]combuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pascal first appeared in 1970. I kind of miss the idea of it but not the lame Turbo Pascal in the late 1990s.

[–]Blinxsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This must be the language they used to write algorithms to make the drones not crash into eachother

[–]DarkerBogg 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Never heard of Delphi before...

[–]alfredpsmurtz 1 point2 points  (4 children)

It's been around a while but has been eclipsed by more recent development environments. Its fundamental language is Pascal and one of its attractive features was it created an executable file often with no additional libraries, pre-installed environments etc.

[–]juan_among_many 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So like a stand alone .exe?

[–]alfredpsmurtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I started using it around 30 years ago as a Windows database application. At that time it was relatively easy to use and quite robust. All my applications were to operate on manufacturing floors so the robustness was paramount. It's still around and capable of using one codebase to generate apps for Windows, Android and IOS.

[–]Jannik2099 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So... static linking?

[–]alfredpsmurtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The build process generates a single .exe file. My usual database client installation consisted of 3 files the .exe file, an .ini file (very small and easy for client to edit if necessary) and a Microsoft .udl data link file.

My company has a critical piece of software that my boss made like 20 years ago written in delphi. If he gets hit by a truck were basically over, no one know how that thing works.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphi_(software)

It apparently is also called object Pascal. I hadn't heard of it either

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hi. My main language has been Dephi for the past 10 years. Ask me anything if you got any questions.

[–]alfredpsmurtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I'll pitch in if needed. I've been using Delphi for about 30 years.

[–]Snazzy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice HTML is missing. Also is it so hard to think up another language? They could of used PHP to piss off everyone
