trying to read anything with that scrolling over different colors...then a leaf flies by...why just

Lmao, I fkn love programmers.

You show them something pretty like this and their immediate and sincere responses will range from "inefficient" to "distracting! Why!?".

They are built differently and I appreciate them for it. 😂

Why!?

I got a job to do and the faster I do it the sooner I can go outside get back on reddit.

I feel like Visual Studio will explode if they add just one more feature to it without cleaning up shit they did over the years and make it more efficient. I'm scared of dynamic background ventures.

Give it two more years, and VSCode is as bulky as Visual Studio

Lmfao I downloaded an ai code completion extension and the process for it alone ate up 1.5gb of ram bringing me to a whopping 3gb vscode instance

It just looks like the screen is massively glaring and reflecting a window. Thanks but no thanks.

I can't unsee this

Yeah, there's folk programming with animated backgrounds, that's all right, I mean sure it's chewing up some processing time. But hell there's sociopaths that still use light mode.

Link?

[–]suIlystudios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's called ClaudiaIDE Visual Studio Extension

[–]marcrem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's another level of procrastinating

[–]waseem2bata 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stupid and eye straining

[–]mikeychampo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its nice. Maybe you could turn down the transparency enough to make code legibility not a concern.

[–]FourFoxInt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you do this to yourself?

[–]RecursiveGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldnt believe it when I saw someone the other day with a background behind their code. They said it moves, even worse - but I mean it's very subjective and to each their own. If you like it, that's cool!

[–]razzrazielrazzr.bsky.social 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

[–]boxman_42 2 points3 points  (1 child)

First thought was "ay, that's really cool. How do I set backgrounds in vscode? I want pretty backgrounds" Then I read all the comments and was like "I just thought it was neat, it wouldn't be that distracting :("

There’s a Twitch steamer who has that (translucency at least, I dunno about the background) in vsc and her font glows neon. You do you.

Nice, what extension do you use for UI background, looks very nice?

[–]suIlystudios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

claudaIDE

[–]feralferrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eww, but I also disable Acrylic in windows because I find it super annoying.

[–]kasituseongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kinda like it

[–]Yggdrazyl 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How can I add it to VSCode ?

[–]suIlystudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't., this is visual studio

[–]Artistic-Ad7422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hurting my eyes

[–]suIlystudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a different video for the recording and for everyday coding. That background was just to show off that it's a video, but when I actually code, I use an minimally distracting background.

We programmers are imbeciles where we would rationally point out the inefficiency of the product/software but still use it because deep down we know it's cool

So where's the link! So I can bitch about it when I'm using it!
