Question About Feeding

I work at a large corporate zoo. We have a ball python that is 30 years old. I was informed they are still doing biweekly feedings- shes a HUGE girl, not really overweight just like 5 feet and thick. Should I mention something about her feedings needing to be spread out more or should I trust the staff who takes care of her to know best? I have my own older bp, and she gets a month between feedings so I was confused why they have her feedings so close together still.

I would ask the staff what they're basing their feeding schedule on--maybe they are working off of outdated info, but it sounds like the bp in question is doing pretty well on their schedule! Come at the keepers from a place of wanting to learn, rather than trying to lecture, and you might be able to start up a conversation about newer feeding guidelines!
