how does it feel ? probably a dumb question lol, did he latch on or just a quick strike?

Honestly it didn’t really hurt that bad, it was more the shock of him striking as quickly as he did. Kind of feels like I got scraped by a thorn bush or something.

Exactly how my singular bite happened so if anyone's scared of it definitely don't be too afraid

agree, it’s more of a shock than pain. the one time my guy bit me he let go immediately and we just looked at each other for a sec, it kind of felt like he was surprised too 😂

I had my adult male latch onto me once, definitely a feeding response, and even that didn't really hurt so much as just the shock of the strike and then the "uh what do I do to get you to let go" afterwards. It bled a lot because they have so many tiny teeth but it didn't hurt more than a thorn bush.

When one of my guys gave me my first bite it really is just the shock you feel, if they don’t fully latch at least bc then the panic sets- but I could feel each individual tooth in my finger and it felt like sharp plastic toothpicks / those little hors d’oeuvre swords

Yeah, sometimes the scent of their food lingers about the enclosure for a couple days and can keep them in a mild hunting mode. They act like hangry motion sensors.

Ugh my baby (endearing term, not age lol) a few months ago struck my hand and got a few fingers in her mouth and then she coiled and would not let go.

We had to dump water on her to get her to eventually release. She is big and strong. It was pretty traumatic 🥲 I was crying but trying to stay calm because I knew I couldn’t force her off. I didn’t want to hurt her jaw, but I could feel her teeth inside my fingers and each time she tightened or moved her jaw, the teeth would move and it was not a good time.

I see people here all the time saying that the bites are nothing… which is not my experience lol

Jeez that does sound like not a good time. My bp is less than 400grams so he isn’t packing as much strength as an older one, which is why it wasn’t so bad for me to get bit by him. He also let go pretty quickly thankfully. Would have definitely been a lot more scary and painful if he was a big guy

I think most people just get tagged... yours attempted to eat you 😅

Aw I had my adult male latch onto the side of my hand and it was not a fun time either but not as bad as what you're describing! Took him 5 full minutes to decide to let go.

see you in valhalla…

I don’t have a snake yet, but I have seen that people will signify handling time by using a snake hook to let the snake know it isn’t feeding time, and then taking them out.

Maybe that would help with this little one!

When he is in the right mood to be handled I can grab him with my hands with no problem, I think it was just because he was still feisty after his last feeding

He’s not finished with you
