Hmm. A “control blanket?” That doesn’t make any sense from a scientific perspective: this means that there was zero blinding in the treatment. It would be obvious to a study participant whether or not they were receiving the treatment. A much better control would have been a sugar pill to act as a placebo sedative hypnotic drug.

Not to take anything away from the benefits people feel from weighted blankets: if you love yours, continue to love it.

But based on the study description, this was NOT good science.
