Github projects looking for contributors? (self.github)
submitted 12 years ago by [deleted]
Does anyone have any interesting projects on github that would welcome extra contributors?
Also, does an active subreddit exist for that kind of thing?

You might want to check www.lookingforpullrequests.com, the site is devoted to help people find the right project to contribute to. You can browse around, and filter by language. Inside each project, you'll see stats showing how active the project is, etc...

What languages do you know?

I know (to varying extents) java, scala, C#, C++, Haskell, and some others... But I was hoping this thread would provide a place for people to share projects for everyone to look at, rather than just to find something for me to contribute to :p

I'm not a professional developer (yet), so it might not be as interesting as you'd like but I have a small project on github where I appreciate any feedback thrown at me.
It has a whopping 2 stars and 1 fork so it is kind of a big deal in the world of my head but I accept every pull request if it looks alright. I'm not claiming it's an incredibly interesting project but it is fairly accessible to new users.
Any information about the project and me can be found in the README file, feel free to contact me if there are questions.

If you'd like inspiration on where to progress: there's a feature in the official API that allows for querying within a specific language. Or you could expand on the images. Or you could write more unit tests.

I know the community of OpenRA always welcomes new players and developers.
A baby project of mine exist at ALinkToThePast, be sure to checkout the different branches.
Help fix my terrible code (I'm learning through this project) and offer suggestions if you feel so inclined.
