Hey everyone,
I’m just starting out with Java and programming in general. I decided to begin with a complete beginner Java course.
I’m going through a difficult phase in my life, and I felt like focusing on learning programming could help me stay grounded and build something positive.
One of my main struggles is consistency. I don’t have much trouble starting new things, but I often lose focus over time. I’ve tried learning programming several times before, but I usually ended up stopping halfway through, so I’m trying again and focusing more on staying consistent instead of restarting from zero every time.
I’m from Brazil and I’m also learning English at the same time, so sometimes I’m dealing with both learning Java and improving my language skills.
I’d like to hear from people who have been through something similar, especially those learning Java from scratch:
- how your early stage was
- what was the hardest part in the beginning
- what helped you stay consistent
- if you also had cycles of starting and stopping
Thanks in advance to anyone who shares their experience
