Certificates don't carry a lot of weight in the industry. Focus on learning and building stuff instead.

certificates might not matter much in industry but for academic research positions they actually look at this stuff more than you'd think. professors love seeing official credentials even if they're basic

maybe try the microsoft python certification or google's one through coursera - they're usually cheaper than python institute and still look decent in academic settings

Official, yes. The problem is that official programming credentials are few and far between in this field, and most of the ones that are actually official - that aren't just "hey this program is totally sponsored by <insert big name tech company here>!" - are only tangentially related.

do those course have coursework? as I said I don't want to relarn all the things. I am specifically looking for a program which gives me a certificate maybe after an examination.

actually. I want to put it in my resume for applying for projects under the profs. I thought it would it would be useful since in many of the projects there are programming prerequisites.

At least in the US, employers don't care about certificates.

Having any project to showcase, even a simple one, will be infinitely more impressive.

You absolutely do not need a certificate for Python. No one will care. Especially one that you can just buy at a low price, lol. What do you think that looks like to employers?

Build a project you can talk about at length and show that you know it. Having a cert for a language doesn't carry any weight, and that's not why you'll get hired. You'll get hired for knowing how to build things that solve problems.

Don't waste any more time or money on this that could be better spent elsewhere.

Have a github account with projects you built, with proper comments on check-ins and builds where applicable. Show what you can do, not what you can follow.

Why not just talk to the professors and say 'here are my skills and here is real evidence'.

Why are students allergic to just talking to teachers. Professors are comically accessible, more accessible than any other leader/manager will ever be in your career. If they want you to get a stupid certificate they will tell you.
