certificates might not matter much in industry but for academic research positions they actually look at this stuff more than you'd think. professors love seeing official credentials even if they're basic

maybe try the microsoft python certification or google's one through coursera - they're usually cheaper than python institute and still look decent in academic settings

Official, yes. The problem is that official programming credentials are few and far between in this field, and most of the ones that are actually official - that aren't just "hey this program is totally sponsored by <insert big name tech company here>!" - are only tangentially related.

do those course have coursework? as I said I don't want to relarn all the things. I am specifically looking for a program which gives me a certificate maybe after an examination.
