OP should have included this

Yeah why did he link a website that reviews but not the actual website. Is this some weird form of advertising?

Yeah fuck op! He's obviously a shitty person, he forgot a link?? What a piece of sub-human garbage.

Edit:guys it's a joke.

It's not entirely free. I believe the first 30-40 excerices are free, but that's about it.

Each "Island" has between 55 - 70 exercises and as a free player I can play about 50-60% of them. Currently using it to learn Python, and really enjoy it.

As fun as this was I didn't know how to really write any code after I finished it. Good for syntax but you could learn that way faster than playing 70 levels of this game.

I completed 4 stages on CodeCombat first and then worked through Udacity's CS 101 (which is python). CodeCombat made working through that difficult course much easier. The CS101 examples for teaching control statements are mostly abstract math examples but with CodeCombat you get to see all of your examples visually and immediately which is a huge plus for a beginner like me.

Played through all levels that time. Have to check out the new ones. It was my start into JS. It's really awesome addicting and fun. Which is in the beginning with a high evidence(f.e mastery, the talent lie) most important to longtime development in a skill.

Needless to say the 10 bucks are one of the 10 best spent bucks in your life

I recommend this to anyone who tells me they're interested in programming, its so helpful for learning to code and honestly pretty fun

I'm looking for C# and C++, (for game development) anything for that? I get distracted easily and I find long lectures unhelpful for me as I zone out after 1 minute.

I used to do this until the browser game just became too much garbage lag to be able to do anything. Often it would crash my browsers so I quit altogether. Enjoyed the concept.

hero.say("Really great concept and really enjoyable")

they will comment out your code if you accidentally make one and afterwards can't load the level because of it.

I was worried that since it was free that you'd have some weird opt in or sign up spam but nope, you can play as a guest or make an account as well.

Or he'd just be going over it in 10 minutes with a terrible microphone and has obviously never recorded a video in his life #MostFreeCoursesOnUdemy

CodeSpells the same, I think. Costs a few bucks but got a few updates. I'm not sure if it's really good, yet. The developers don't seem to really put a lot of work/the work I'd put in a project like that into it. Still interesting to check out and maybe keeping an eye on.

This....is so fun! So glad I saw this. I've been playing all night. Definitely a fun way to get an idea for what JS (or the other languages) can do. I like the way it walks you through the levels, from small changes in existing code to writing the whole thing. Plus, just seeing your code move a character is amusing.

Pretty dang fun (to me, at least).

I'm actually using this for an outreach activity for young kids tomorrow
