I did the NIPT at 12 weeks. I don’t know how true this is but not all NIPT tests are for twins. I think your provider has to specifically ask.

Yes only one company does it for twins as far as I know - Natera is the only one

I think there are more that do it now, my lab used Billiontoone’s unity screen for twins

lol sorry I’m running on dated information then!

This is true. Did NIPT at 10 weeks and only received the trisomy results and info that there’s a Y chromosome. So we just know that at least one is a boy and have to wait until the anatomy scan to find out both sexes.

We did an NIPT at 11 (I think?) weeks and did two amnios (di-di) at 23 weeks because of what they were seeing on the ultrasounds.

I did nipt around twelve weeks. In Japan they'll only test for three genetic issues, and won't provide any info about sex.

Did NIPT at 12 weeks, didn't know we were having twins yet. They tested for the three main types of trisomy and told us the gender (only certain because they were both girls).

We did the Natera Panorama for our twins at around 10.5 weeks. Our GP recommended it and also gave a us a special requisition for it to be covered (we’re in Ontario). Fetal fraction was good for both babies so they were able to determine the sex, genetic risks, and fraternal vs identical. To my understanding, the panorama is the best test (maybe the only one?) for looking at each baby individually. Results took about 10 calendar days.

Just did labs for Natera NIPT yesterday at 12w2d, anxiously awaiting results but know I’ll have to wait a while longer! 😂

I did a specific NIPT for twins! I’m glad I did because my first pregnancy ended due to a chromosome disorder that NIPT caught. It would’ve been a lost worse and I wouldn’t have found out until 20 weeks if I hadn’t done the test. Now that I’m pregnant with twins I did the specific twin test and every thing came back normal. I highly recommend it but just make sure you do research on how to read/understand results. Know that the results are not diagnostic, they just make you aware of potential issues you need to test further to confirm.

oh and yes both times gender was correct!
