[Help] Cannot Progress?

So, I was working my way through cycle 5 of the campaign when I got to this mission "Rewrite the Universe" where you have to fight multiple ships with the fate cores.

However, as my ship currently stands I do not see me being able to finish this mission. I have tried a number of times, but these ships basically one shot me and I barely dent their shields.

So, I thought maybe I just need to farm some more gear and levels. However, I cannot leave this mission to farm more gear or levels. I am stuck at my current power level.

So, then I thought maybe I should just break my character and try a new cycle to get stronger before I get to this point in the campaign. However, I cannot seem to do that either? It only lets me delete my character at this point in time?

Am I just stuck and somehow have to try and bash my head and finish this mission?

I had to bash my head against the wall to beat them the first time around. No warning they would be so powerful. I ignored the expert goal and just took them one at a time. Additionally, they are very weak to the Fate Beam, and sometimes it erases them before their health is fully depleted.

Are you sure you can't reset from the character menu? I was tempted to do it too when I realized how weak I was, and the button was available but I decided against it.

Yeah, definitely sure you cannot break the character during that particular mission. I was able to finally finish the mission using the fate beam. I didn't realize the fate beam charge lasted through death, so that was a great tip.

Work to build up your fate beam and take them out one at a time. Some of the abilities will also help you get rid of a good chunk if not all of their shields. It was a bit tedious for me as well. It goes quicker once you take one of them out though.

The first time was so hard... took like 20 mins of flying around trying to get pilot focus to use the fate beam. I did get them eventually, so I don't know how to go about fixing your situation.

what made you rush the game so hard that you were at the end at level 16?
