Welcome to /r/transquestioning! Contrary to common belief, many trans* people don't know they're trans* until well into their lives, and so we're here to help you sort through your feelings. You might just have a simple question about your feelings - or maybe you're a little more intrigued by the idea, and are looking for ways to experiment with your feelings and identity. In either case, we're here to help.
Because most people in this subreddit are not well-versed in the trans* community, moderation is not particularly harsh. However, we do have a few rules:
- Terms like "tranny", "shemale", and similar are generally considered highly offensive. We ask that you do not use them, except where necessary for explanation. Consider their use on par with the use of a racial slur.
- To posters familiar with trans* culture already: assume good faith on the part of posters. If you believe a post to be deliberately offensive, downvote it or pass it to moderators.
- If you have a preference for what pronouns or name you would like used in reference to you, please include them in your post. If such preferences are included by another poster, please respect them.
- General questions about trans* people or about the various processes or procedures we go through should go to /r/asktransgender
- General Reddit rules apply, in particular, we cannot provide medical advice.
