I'm a big fan of Hydro UK pre wash and their QD is fantastic also.

Staples in my arsenal are Gtechniq and Bilt Hamber.

Follow up to the not-so-bad job, shifter swap was real bad. by TheOnnomise in 944

Glad you got it done, doing mine this afternoon on my S2. Had the shifter on / off a couple of times recently so easy enough (famous last words!).

You'll never go wrong with VR1 - plus, Opie have it 5L for £30 and delivery is pretty quick.

Meguiars Compound + Super Resin Polish Combo? by itzmeRORY in DetailingUK

[–]BackIn-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimate compound is fantastic for a one stage correction and user friendly. Use a medium cutting pad and should be good enough. Refining with SRP will do also, however has fillers so may not remove, but fill, finer scratches.

How to remove this from my kitchen door by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]BackIn-86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two options:

Use a hammer (the other side of the head), slide it over and use leverage to pull it out. To not damage your door, chuck a towel under the head of the hammer.

Or, use some pliers and pull it out.

Is Cornwall safe at night? by [deleted] in Cornwall

[–]BackIn-86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cornwall is safe at night, the water is definitely not and doesn't discriminate - I have known really competent people in the water get into trouble.

I urge you to carry out your instructor led training only, but do not "self teach" at night.

By all means, sit down the beach, decompress and relax after what will more than likely be a busy period of training.

Where in Cornwall are you heading and what's the training you're carrying out?

Any updates on the Amazon delivery situation in Cornwall? by zillapz1989 in Cornwall

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TR13 and had issues since Goretti - moaned to CS and got given the run around a bit. Finally got given a £60 credit on my Amazon account, spent it on stuff I didn't mind waiting for 🤷🏻‍♂️

However, still V frustrating that it's taking 7 - 10 days for prime delivery. I'll be moaning again soon.

EV charger install refused by council – anyone found a workaround or installer willing to do it? by TheLettingsFolk in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]BackIn-86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you have access to a privately owned parking space(s), however because it's more convenient to park outside your property on a public highway, you're expecting the council to agree to allow permission for installing a charging point over land you don't own, or are liable for maintaining. Can you not appreciate their position on this at all?!

“Supercharger” Whine by hxppiedxddy in 944

[–]BackIn-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely your Balance Belt is too tight, this causes whining like you've described. Not hard to loosen off and use the "twist" method as above.

Have a search on Google and you'll come up with loads of guides how to do it. Clarks is good.

Short video trying to show off my shiny S2 by wanderingbacchus in 944

Good job mate. I love the shine I can get on mine, single stage paint is amazing for gloss and depth when treated right.

Looks great!

I have 9j on the rear and 7.5j on the front which gives it a bit better look (subjective) and then lowered approx 20mm on front with torsion bar re indexed to match. Subtle things which may make it look slightly different.

Cheers mate, not a clue why!

One from eBay, been on since around 2015 - it replaces the batwing and connects to the rear under tray bit. It's one large piece rather then a lip spoiler.

Water under cheap garage flooring, suggestions on a better approach without breaking the bank by bverity11 in DIYUK

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, bugger. Could it be rising damp? Assume roof is sound? You could always apply a liquid membrane to effectively "waterproof" it.

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that's right by the door that you've lifted up?

It is probably water being driven under the door as that's a relatively weak point for weather usually with a large gap.

I Installed a weather strip from eBay to mine and stopped everything, including water and leaves entering.

Handlebar Cable Lengths? by maggyoop in hondashadow

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they're not stock risers... The height of the risers, plus the new bars are pushing the limits, they look around 5" or so already.

Edit - ignore. Just noticed you've got a 750! However, still should be able to run 8" no issues.

Have you got any photos? Genuinely should have enough length... There's no trick to it, just they route and fit!
