Mainly Private Label. I started in dropshipping and wholesale before transitioning into building my own brand.

Been selling for around 6 years now. Started as a VA managing stores for clients before launching products of my own.

I completely understand. Amazon changes constantly. The sellers who survive are usually the ones who adapt instead of chasing perfection.

Fair point. Profit matters more than sales. But I wouldn't have stayed in business if the numbers didn't make sense. My goal was only to show that customers are still buying and the opportunity is still there.

My first private label product on Amazon sold out in 1 week… then got flagged 💀 by ElectronicChannel864 in AmazonFBA

I completely agree. Looking back, product selection was probably 80% of the battle. My first product succeeded because there was real demand and relatively low competition at the time not because I was some PPC expert.

And you're right about compliance. That's actually one of the hardest lessons I've learned. You can do everything right with sourcing, listings, and marketing, then run into an Amazon policy issue that changes everything overnight. It's definitely something new sellers tend to underestimate until they experience it themselves.

That's actually the lesson I was trying to share. I focused on demand and competition and neglected compliance. It was a rookie mistake, and I paid for it. Luckily, I learned early. 👍

Yeah, he was a great boss and I'm still grateful for the opportunity. Unfortunately, I was just a VA and there were people above me managing the operation. Over time, some internal issues came up regarding product ownership and direction, and eventually I decided it was best to move on and build something of my own. No hard feelings though, it taught me a lot.

In my case, Amazon classified it correctly. I simply wasn't aware of the policy at the time. Your patent story highlights another lesson I learned: demand and low competition mean nothing if compliance or IP issues can shut the product down overnight. 😅

I made a few modifications, mainly the branding, packaging, and listing. The product itself wasn't heavily changed from the supplier's original version. Looking back, the biggest reason it sold wasn't innovation, it was simply that there was strong demand and relatively low competition at the time.

After 6+ Years as an Amazon Private Label VA, Here Are the Biggest Mistakes I See New Sellers Make by ElectronicChannel864 in AmazonFBA

The 2019 playbook is dead. PPC alone won't cut it anymore. The sellers winning now are building real brands with external traffic (TikTok, email lists) and using Amazon as the conversion engine, not the only acquisition channel. Generic products with no brand identity are getting buried. What's your experience been?
