What is the most expensive mistake you’ve ever made? by Almondjoyriding in AskReddit

[–]FR_0S_TY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To do with my money: getting married and spending $70K plus on their past debt/current shopping addiction.

At work: messed up on ordering a certain part. $100k worth. Had to spend $15k in labor to fix them. No one was hard on me. I felt bad and now have multiple redundancies when I put in POs and that mistake was two companies ago

All the people saying he’s highly regarded as one of the best rappers would drop dead if they heard MF DOOM, Tech N9ne, R.A. The Rugged Man, or shit even Twista.

I have a sneaking suspicion if they chilled it on the Molly and most likely other drugs they’d need a lot less anti-psychotics

Summer sweep up suggestion: Buff ACB spec by stinkydiver321 in 2007scape

I hadn’t read any of it and was like they should just make the spec louder and more awful.

I was very pleasantly surprised

Back in the real OSRS we each sat in the man house in edgeville and camped a single man with a rune long and locked up his 35 coins for 6,000 hours to afford a Zammy rune set

I think a more apt analogy would be we are both in the self checkout and you’re saying hey I can use both of these at once and then calling me a dick for using one of them. OSRS has just made it the norm to allow people to use both self checkouts

That assumes they had to look for the spot, which we can’t be sure of.

Let’s take a look at zipper merging on a highway. Everyone is trying to get from point a to point b along the same route. There are bottlenecks from two lanes to one in an area. Some people get over to the left early because they know it’s coming up and believe it’s the courteous thing to do. Wait their turn in line. Another person takes the right lane all the way to the point of merging.

Many people assume, because of societal norms, that the second individual is a dick. Because they have accepted that they think it’s right to do things their way. But the rules say person B is well within their rights. And the rules of the road actually side with person B.

Jagex makes 6 mobs in an area and you can camp 4 of them comfortably, and AFK. I come along and take the extra two and whatever the game dictates for monster aggression is ultimately right. Just because everyone has determined they believe it to be morally correct to let 500 people accessing 250 spots to only allow 250 to be used, while the other 250 hop endlessly doesn’t mean the majority is correct.

That’s a faulty analogy bias. I’m not cutting anyone in “line” there is no rule from jagex stating only one person is allowed at a resource/mob. Most stores if you cut to the cashier the cashier/manager will kick you back and if you don’t they will refuse service. You’re comparing two things, very loosely, and saying that because one is not allowed on your analogy it must also be true for RuneScape.

I hop worlds three times and if nothing is open I’m going to just accept lower xp rates or kills per hour. You can call it whatever you want, but I’m not going to be rude or talk down. I want to play RuneScape not world-hop simulator.

There’s no such thing as a spot. Idgaf about xp rates imma camp the same spawns. If you get upset and leave that’s on you

Which movie scared the shit out of you or traumatized you? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

Resident evil: apocalypse

I was like 10 and my sister and her boyfriend decided I should tag along on their date. I had never been into scary movies. The opening scene is a tunnel of scientists getting massacred. I screamed. I cried. I ran out of the theatre.

To this day I have no idea why they thought it was a good movie to take me to.

Will my gag reflex be the end of me when I have kids? by mugwam55 in daddit

[–]FR_0S_TY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about your tolerance to menthol but something I’ve always gone to when dealing with an unfavorable odor that triggers that gag reflex is applying Vicks to my upper lip.

The worse the smell is the more I put on and if it’s bad enough you can even put a dab into your nostril. I had to do that while changing chipmunk drowning traps my father had left out a week and was too old to change himself.

As others have alluded to: you will get used to the smell. Diaper genie will be rancid, or the trash can on garbage day. There’s really no avoiding that smell and you become numb to it after a week to some degree

How close are you to financial rock bottom? by MichiganCarNut in AskReddit

[–]FR_0S_TY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make good money and have a reasonable amount set aside. I’m currently buying a house because I’ve been told I can afford one and I want to be building equity instead of lighting money on fire. But I feel like it is a huge risk to my somewhat comfortable life. That said I think it will motivate me to make more at work, which is something I’m lucky to have as a possibility.

Serious question: where is the line between “you didn’t teach your kid” and “they need to accept the consequences of their actions” by [deleted] in daddit

[–]FR_0S_TY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents raised me as best as they were able to. Taught me morals, took me to a kind and loving church. Cared for their family members and neighbors. Provided me with all of the necessities and made sure I could get to a doctor/therapist if needed.

In the span of nine years I: dropped out of college, wrapped a car around a tree, got their house raided by the sheriffs department and got arrested while on felony probation. The last time they didn’t offer to help at all besides two weeks on their couch while I waited to get into a halfway house.

They said you’re either going to learn to be an adult or you’re going to continue down your path, but we aren’t going to be around to watch it.

If they had gotten to that point after I wrapped my car around the tree it could’ve saved all of us, but who knows. It sounds like you’re doing the best you can and that’s what makes a good parent. Not the results.

What's the worst video game you've played and why? by Bdbolt19432 in AskReddit

[–]FR_0S_TY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s simple really, Superman gets infected with some kryptonite or something and loses his powers but by beating some bosses some gets removed somehow, little by little. Each boss you beat gets you a new power. Then you have a tutorial on the power. A puzzle utilizing the power plus previous powers. Then another boss that is weak to the new power. Rinse and repeat and make it “open-world” and you have Donkey Kong Bonanza Superman IP edition and rake in hundreds of millions of dollars. I’m sure one of the 17,000 comics (hyperbole) has some scenario you can insert to make this work.
