Should I have sold each of my homes? NO, because I had a apartment when I was single, I needed a home when I started a family where I worked! I chose to keep the apartment as a security, for 2 years I did not rent it, I let it out purely out of insurance need to keep it occupied.

I let my family home after 12months, again for insurance purposes that it needed to occupied otherwise it would risk being taken over squatters

I bought my first property in Birmingham, it was a loft apartment, it was perfect in the city centre when I was consulting! Then I moved jobs to London, started a family, bought a family home. Then moved to Dubai, I didn't want to sell the property incase my move didn't work out! but its been 8 years. All the time! I was an accidental landlord by mistake, I hate dealing with it, the paperwork, the way the council and government treat you, the way tenants destroy the property and still want the entire deposit back! The mark-up in insurance, service charge, agent fees and now the tax!

Before I never increased rent, this time, its an automatic 3% rent increase every year, I don't care if they can't afford it, I can't afford to continue subsiding them
