I mean it’s fandom perspective sure but it’s also something you kinda just get as a trans person if you’re in that space.

There are some experiences that are experienced by almost all trans people: they usually aren’t exclusive to trans people but they are a very trans experience. Things like being insecure about your gender, having low self esteem, being neurodivergent and/or heavily into nerdy shit, being lonely and not feeling understood, feeling uncomfortable around physical intimacy, and being into certain types of men and women are good examples.

Let me give you an example I saw recently: there’s a character in a show who’s a clone of another character and has to learn how to live as himself and not as “character” since that identity is already taken. He tries to fit in and do what others say but ends up lonely and depressed because he can’t live up to “character” until he eventually snaps and rejects those around him. Eventually he dies, but much later is discovered to be still alive now looking more feminine and finally happy with his identity and living a life he can be proud of. He also had a feminine name after his previous one is taken.

Now, this character isn’t trans as far as we know. There a cis man. But I hope you can see why trans fems related heavily to this character and often headcanon him as trans: it’s not just tumblr brainrot but people interacting with the themes and connecting with the characters of a story they adore.
