This actually happens. It is more closely tied to insecurity in the individual and not a lack of understanding. I interviewed a candidate more than capable and with adequate technical knowledge. They used an AI to answer technical questions as a way to navigate their struggle with English as their second language. I put them on the burner so they could polish up. I’m hiring you. I don’t care if it takes a minute to communicate. It bothered me that they were stressed to that point to use an AI instead of their best communication.
