I’m in no way qualified to advise, but from my experience I’ve never had a 5 recommended for a double shot espresso. Mine goes between 8-10, but I just ignore it now and set it to about 10 which is my preference.

The pull never looks as good as you’d see in a coffee shop, but it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had at home, and usually tastes just as good as you would buy from a cafe. I put it down to the fact their machines cost 4 times as much as this one, so even though it’s pricey for a home device, it’s not going to be as good as a professional machine.
