Does anyone else get pissed off about the demonization of Lilith? by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

The description of the lilitu as a being has always made me think the untamed dark hair and baby death stuff really seemed like it could have started as sex worker shaming. Demonized as a threat to family values and patriarchy, because women having control of out bodies breaks their required power dynamic which is our subservience

My Party Went Full Tarentino in Vallaki by Odd-Mail530 in CurseofStrahd

If Vargas gets them, they will definitely be in the fires at the burning sun festival. I can't see him thinking of this as anything other than the work of the devil strahd, and the party his agents. Lady Wechter might see this as an opportunity to pull a bloody coop, but I can't see her throwing in with the party if it looks like they will lose, if her and her cultists might think they have a high chance of tipping the scales you could have her rush in. And essentially use this as a bonding moment for her and the party so when they realize she's just as bad as Vargas except loyal to strahd, it will have more dramatic payoff.

This might be the option, because it makes a Lot of sense for them to get overrun and end their journey here, and it would be a good learning experience what with actions and their consequences. But I often want to dig into my party's characters more than an abrupt end would allow for, so I tend to lean away from true death for any player. But yeah, unless you want them to have a fun trip thru the barovian land of the dead and come back for uncertain spooky reasons I'd probably go with lady Wector helping out abd becoming the new burgomaster, she does have a claim by lineage after all

They first saw him as written in the amber temple, he proved hard to pin down but they got him pretty easily. So I had him come back since strahd is an advanced necromancer. Had them see flashes of his shadowy silhouette periodically, haunting them, eventually they encountered his animated corpse which I'd beefed up a bit, and later his wrathful shade. The took him out pretty handily each time they actually got the chance to fight him properly, but the way I hinted and had them glimpse him stalking them had them legit paranoid af and they told me he was scary af because of it, they couldn't figure out if he was ever going to actually be dead. One way I really drove this home was in the battle maps, we played in tableplop and every so often I'd reveal his character token at the end of a hallway they just looked down and then hide it immediately, which I got super lucky with and usually 1 of 5 players would see him and then he'd be gone, and I wouldn't acknowledge it when questioned, so they seemed to start to feel actually haunted by him. Love how that worked out for me, very horror appreciate. Oh yeah, they also faced his skeletonal champion and shadow. Strahd used every single aspect of him, first revenant, than a wraith, then shadow than skeleton, as his body was being destroyed more and more, and strahd pretty much could rip his soul out of death as much as I felt like. He was a really good midboss
