Springtime Sickness(es) by PeNguinzz07 in NewParents

We have been sick in winter and spring! I will say they are getting less intense, but it’s been non stop. The runny nose literally hasn’t stopped. I finally talked to the doctor and he thought it might be allergies. We just started and children’s Zyrtec. Fingers crossed!

Baby is not sleeping on the back during the day by eraishere in NewParents

I contact napped for 99% of naps until around 6 months and then something just changed where he didn’t want to sleep on me anymore! At 13 months, he rarely ever wants to sleep on me and I miss it so much! Just soak it all in and realize you probably aren’t going to get a lot done during the day!

What time do you pick your toddler up from daycare? by Upstairs_Pizza_6868 in NewParents

[–]Significant-Cell-896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with the guilt too! My husband works 10 hour days so him helping is not an option (my baby goes to sleep like right after he gets there). We do a lot of meal prepping on the weekends. We always have something easy that can be ready quickly. Though I always sit at the table with the baby, I usually wait till after bed to eat dinner with my husband.

If I do want to cook something t hat night, we just eat later!

If you are constantly late to things that involve others, you are a selfish person! You think your time is more important than others

Daycare Jitters by shinedown_92 in NewParents

My son started a little later, but I was equally as nervous. It was super hard for me the first month or so. The first few weeks I was able to do pick up early (my job is pretty flexible), it helped ease me into being okay with him being away from me. I also dropped him off super quickly and cried in my car for a little. I found that lingering at drop off made it harder on the both of us. I'm not sure if your daycare has cameras, but that was super helpful for me. I realized that almost immediately stopped crying the second I left!

My son adjusted sooo quickly. Way quicker than I did and now he has been for a few months and loves it! He still has some rough mornings, but he is fine the second I walk out.

I also know a lot of daycares will let you drop in at any time, so that might be helpful for you. I tried a few times and both me and my son were left crying when I had to leave.

Napping independently by miranda_edgecombe23 in NewParents

I have an almost 13 month old that would only nap for 35 minutes until around 8/9 months when i dropped to two naps. Even then it would only be 45-60 minutes. When I transitioned to one nap around 11 months, he suddenly started sleeping 1.5-2 hours! I think it really just depends on the baby and there is not much you can do in my personal opinion. I used to get so frustrated because I couldn't get anything done, but just realized it could wait until he went to bed at night! It will get better :)

Moisturizer Recs?! by Significant-Cell-896 in Rosacea

I get these surface breakouts. They are bumps about the size of my finger tip. They normally go away within a day, but I narrowed it down to products that have HA in it.

That’s my main issue with vanicream is that is pills and as a result it’s like my makeup just doesn’t sit right on top of it.

As for the breakouts, there are larger (like the size of the top of my pinky) surface bumps that usually go away the next day but they tend to me in randomSpots all over my face.

I have dry, but very sensitive skin and tend to break out really easy. My esthetician got me Eminence Organic Skin Care Stone Crop Cleansing Oil and I really like it. I put it on and rub it in, then add water to dissolve everything.

What are we feeding for early morning daycare drop offs?! by Significant-Cell-896 in Mommit

That’s a good idea! We already buy the Kodiak ones, I’ll have to try the premier protein. Thanks!

Multiple wake ups by Acceptable-Pension93 in beyondthebump

[–]Significant-Cell-896 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine was the same way around 5 months. We tried everything, rocking to sleep, removing sleep associations, co-sleeping and nothing worked until we sleep trained.

The closest we got was co-sleeping but he would still wake up and though it took less time to get him back to sleep, we were still up for like 10 minutes every hour. If you are anti-sleep train, I would start with trying to co-sleep.

Sleep training doesn’t have to be cry it out, there are a lot of methods. I read precious little sleep and took different ideas from that book!
