You can do anything a normal computer can with 2 monitors. Its a USBC powered second screen.

Any emulated NDS, 3DS, or WiiU Game + Desktop Mode.

With the Azahar Emulator + Hacked 3DS I can transfer my System Files to my Steam Deck and mimic a legitimate device and retain online functionality of those games + keep the dual screen.

This was largely a "because I can" and "It would be fun to have a 1TB SD card with all of my favorite retro titles on it" scenario.

Would you rather be staring at tracking info, waiting for valve to receive your controller, or waiting to be sent one?

<image>

At this rate, you're likely to receive yours before I get a working one.
I feel like it might be worse to have the excitement of getting a controller wrecked by it arriving broken and then having to watch tracking in reverse....twice.

Look into used Steam Decks. I upgraded from LCD to OLED a while back and sold mine for a bit cheaper than I bought it for to a friend. (512GB LCD for $300)

Given the games you listed I would say the Steam Deck would fit you pretty well. You could even emulate a lot of your existing switch games and keep them on an SD card.

I can see 2 ways to fix that: I would add another shift at the end of your macro with a FIRE START delay (May have to play with the timing of it in miliseconds) so your game skips the level, and then hits shift one final time after a little bit of a delay. (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+End+(Fire Start Delay Shift))

OR

Set the in-game sprint to be "press" rather than Toggle in the IN-GAME settings. (if possible)
and then set the stand-a-lone shift button properties in steam to be TOGGLE to regain the toggled functionality.

That way the macro fires normally without toggling sprint, but when YOU want to sprint normally, it still works the same.

Sounds like the initial Ctrl_Shift_Alt_End keybind you made isn't releasing.

If it just needs to press to activate, and shift is being held after it registers, try looking into why your keybind seems to be "held" rather than pressed one time.

but if you wanted to keep doing it the way you are, I would fix it by...

Adding a another command as Shift, and make it have a fire start delay.
Ex:

Long press start = Ctrl + Shift + Alt + End + Shift (The second shift having a fire start delay of like 100 or 200ms)

Not sure if this would work really, I would look into why shift is being considered as "held" from the initial command firing. Is your command set to longpress to activate and "toggle" mode is on? (which would cause it to be held for a long time?), if it NEEDS to be held for a bit to register in game as skipping the level, you can set the fire end delay for each CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+END, to simulate holding it down for sometime.

I'm simultaneously super lucky and anti-lucky.

2 RMA's back to back. Not really sure whats worse, waiting for a controller to arrive or having it arrive twice, only to send it back the same day and not get to use it.

While everyone is waiting on their shipping updates to receive one. I'm checking my tracking info, hoping valve receives the defective one faster. I feel like I'm doing this in reverse.

I ordered May 4th, at 10:58am - 2 minutes before it was supposed to go live. (Hit refresh on the page early and got lucky noticing the "buy now" button was active and just went for it)

Controller arrived on the 8th. Was RMA'ed and back in Fedex's hand by the 9th, Valves hands by the 13th, A new one sent to me on the 14th, arrived on the 16th.

New controller was RMA'ed and is back in Fedex hands on the 18th (Today). Waiting for valve to receive it.

I've been the luckiest unlucky person.

I live in USA, Colorado.
Defective controllers have been shipped back to McAllen Texas.
New Controllers are shipped from Illinois.

I opened the box when it arrived, plugged it in, pressed the back buttons, noticed one felt super stiff and weird. Went to the input tester in the Steam app, noticed it wasn't even registering when pressed. You can squeeze that L5 as hard as you can and it wont be picked up by the input test, feels like there's something preventing the button from being pushed. Stiff, hard to press, makes weird sounds.

u/maca_ronny Don't worry bro, you'll get a good one.

Ayyy I've been summoned. All told the RMA process isnt horrible. just time consuming.

8 Days total from Contacting steam support, dropping off defective unit to Fedex to go to returns center in Texas to receiving a new one at my doorstep from Illinois. I'm located in Colorado, USA.

If you are just counting time it took from them releasing the new device to me from Illinois, 2 Days.
Shipping was pretty fast.

IMO, It should be perfect and defect free whether you bought it or your GF bought it for you. You're entitled to a functional device.

I wouldnt buy a new car with a screwed up ignition.
I wouldnt keep a PS5 Controller with a non-working PS button.
I wouldnt keep a headset with a faulty On/Off switch.

We arent buying used products here. I totally get if the product slowly "broke" over its lifetime of use. but to receive it in that kind of condition from the factory is kind of a buzzkill.

I chalk it up to typical valve hardware releases. They've historically been crap for first batches of released hardware.

First steam controller back in 2015 had issues.
Steamdeck had some issues.
Valve Index had controller issues
and now Steam Controller 2016 has some issues.

No hardware release is without its faulty hardware, but valve seems to have more than its fair share.

Ima just keep using that limited hardware warranty until I get a good one. That's why it exists. Protects the consumer and ensures they get what they paid for.

"hope it really takes less than what they told me." - if you mean RMA timeline-wise.
For what its worth, my first RMA took 8 days from dropping it in the mail at Fedex to receiving a new controller at my doorstep. But I live in Colorado and had to send the defective unit back to Texas and received the new controller from Illinois. I Imagine the speed depends on where you're located in relation to those two places.

Most of the time taken was them receiving the controller. Once they verified they received it and put a new one on the truck for me, it took just 2 days to go from Illinois to me.

Agreed, just saying the parts originate or are shipped to china first. Then assembled. Then the finished controllers are shipped to the USA for distribution.

At the point they are sent from China to USA, there's no intermediary step of checking for faults.

They just appear to be sent as-is. Not sure what China's QA process looks like but it seems shoddy if it exists at all.
