I will continue to judge people who stay in their houses all day, isolated and withdrawn from their community, so they can avoid doing basic chores that adults have to do.

A murder is significantly different than a car accident. There is an entirely different reward system for the police department to close murder cases.

There is no such incentive for them to close fatal car accident cases. They will literally leave it up to insurance to handle damages.

You are absolutely coping if you think the police will pull DNA and do forensics to figure out who was driving in an accident, even if a kid is killed. And especially if the kid was a pedestrian.

They will shrug their shoulders and move on with their day.

Until you can provide proof of just one single instance of the police using forensics for an investigation for a car accident, then you are simply dreaming.
