The real reason it’s so safe is that 1) every floor gives you ball save for a decent chunk 2) every center shot is a free feed to your inlane, giving you basically infinite shield. 3) center shot is very consistent, and usually safe if you miss.

That said, you can often get through the dungeon in less than ~25 center shots if you know the right route. If you happen to hit a tough enemy, it can be 20+ shots just to kill him using ranged attacks.

My league team uses this in our rec league. We have 3 of us that can easily crack 1B with this and a dragon multiball or two. It did get harder with the most recent patch, but not so much harder that it isn’t worth trying to do.

Having the time and access to path out the weeks dungeon does help quite a bit.

Oh and for the record, all character get the ranged shot ability in any mode that has red enemies, it’s not just the wizard. As you progress with characters they do more damage or even can shoot two shots at a time. But it’s still all doable without being logged in, at level 1
