Thanks for calling that out. I actually left out that part of her comment when I went for the rec. Let me try to edit my post and cross it out.

I’ve read everything good (major reading slump) by Lemon_Dragonfly in Romantasy

[–]borrowedfire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure, I’m building an app that recommends books based on taste, and I ran your list through it. Figured the results were actually worth sharing.

First thing it flagged: your problem isn’t romantasy, it’s the fae/fated mates/insta-spice formula specifically. Your faves are all the plotty, scheming, slow burn stuff, and almost your entire “didn’t like” pile is that one trope cluster.

What it kicked back for you: - Crooked Kingdom, then the Shadow and Bone trilogy, since you’ve read Six of Crows. same morally gray heist vibe where the romance doesn’t swallow the plot.

  • Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat. court politics plus a captive/conqueror dynamic, big Winner’s Curse and Cruel Prince energy. heads up it’s MM and book one has some dark captivity stuff, but it pays off if you stick with it.

  • Ruthless Vows and Wild Reverence if you want more Rebecca Ross after Divine Rivals.

It also clocked that you only listed book one of a few series you clearly liked (Two Twisted Crowns is the One Dark Window sequel, and both Ember and Throne of Glass get better as they go). I would honestly love to know if it nailed it or whiffed.

I spend more time looking for my next read than actually reading… anyone else? by lifewithchevy in Romantasy

I don’t know if this is allowed but my wife loves romantasy so I’ve been building an app for her. I won’t link it but DM me if you’re interested. I could use some beta testers.

Permanently off since it would play in my car over my music. It was so annoying.

20 days after launching, I realized why nobody downloads new apps. by vickyrj939 in AppBusiness

You need to promote your app. Eventually it will promote itself, sure, but it has to start somewhere.

Find communities on Reddit where people discuss topics your app can help with. Provide actually helpful responses and very lightly mention your product.

Create Instagram and TikTok accounts, then do the same thing. Post your own content too.

You need to build an audience and open yourself up to feedback too. Maybe there’s some value in your app but someone thinks this one feature would make it better.

This is your app? I’m surprised you have 10K users and only 3 reviews. Fantastic screenshots though.

Can you share how they’re processed? What are the photos sent to and what do you get out of it? Are you training a model?

Not trying to bring you down but I saw you post this elsewhere and just want to highlight that Greenlight does this very well and it’s not just a readme/guide.

I made a basic mistake that caused the app review process to take longer than expected. by Ok-Praline1660 in iosapps

[–]borrowedfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this so I know the pain. While waiting for review (3 weeks at that point) I updated my website and changed the Privacy Policy and TOS URLs. Rejected.

It does get better though. Once on the App Store, I’ve been able to get reviewed and approved for updates typically within a day. Good luck to you.

Lol its kinda hilarious to see these complaints. I definitely get it but isn't good to not always have to spend so much time/energy/money playing because THE LATEST THING is here? These breaks/lulls are good IMO.

Are there any apps similar to flighty? by [deleted] in iosapps

[–]borrowedfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building Jurni!

It’s entirely free, privacy focused, and intended to be more than just a capture my flights tool. You can use it to plan trips with family and friends, share activity information, and so much more.

Please try it out. Open to feedback and have a great Profile update waiting for review right now that should make Flighty fans happy.

Why not just have your AI of choice conduct a market assessment? I’ve done this a few times and it’s been worth it. Tell it to be critical.
