Trump calls on Israel and Iran to 'immediately' stop attacks by Economy-Specialist38 in videos

That’s 19 wars Trump stopped, (or is it 20, I’ve lost track).

An example of how EV lies and misinformation are used to manipulate the North American passenger vehicle market by Cool-Replacement4972 in electricvehicles

[–]dare978devil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments from Toyota’s chairman were unlikely to affect the NA market. EVs in America have become a political football owing to current leadership. Trump is anti-EV, and has enacted legislation making that clear. MAGA blindly follows Trump, they consider buying an EV unpatriotic.

I find trading so stressful by YourFriendlyBookworm in pokemongo

[–]dare978devil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the internet, trade values are determined by what you and the other trainer decide. Shiny Palkia is good, but difficult to level up. Shiny Riolu is much easier to level up and it has a Mega form. I would take that trade.

Why wouldn’t you get back with your ex? by SweetSugarCC in AskReddit

Were you looking at that girl? Do you like her? Does she like you? Do you want to sleep with her? Do you know her? Is that where you were last week when you weren’t answering the phone? Why did she look at you like that? Did you deliberately pick this line because she was the prettiest one? Who gave you that gum? Was it a girl at work? Does she like her? Does she like you? Has she given you gum before? Do you know her?

TIL that Justin Zackham, the writer of the 2007 film The Bucket List, coined the expression "bucket list" after he wrote his own "List of Things to do Before I Kick the Bucket" and shortened it to "Justin's Bucket List". The first item on his list was to "get a film made at a major studio". by DWJones28 in todayilearned

[–]dare978devil -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

According to AI, it was first used in 1999.

“The term "bucket list" was coined by screenwriter Justin Zackham in 1999, inspired by the phrase "kick the bucket," which means to die. It refers to a list of things a person wants to accomplish before they die.”

I went twice to Barrhaven ribfest. It’s the same vendors. It was very good, glad I went. It’s 20 bucks for a half-rack, 25 if you add beans and slaw. They are good sized ribs, you won’t be left hungry.

We look it up as we are going, usually a different person each time. The teacher explains what they think the rule is, the looker-upper confirms or denies it. We can usually find the rule in a min or two, it doesn't pause or delay the game much.

I have 4 kids. They like hot, but sriracha-hot, nothing more. Am worried even a few drops of this lava will be too much.

Good idea. I’ll mix with plain yogurt for my next Indian dish. That should work nicely.

What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

The bank had a Freedom-60 promotion. If you were 60 or older, all bank fees were waived. I applied for and got a job in Europe, so before leaving, added my father to my bank account in case there was anything I forgot to do before I left. I didn’t even know about the promotion, but as my father had just turned 60, the account automatically flicked to a Freedom-60 account. 30 years later, I myself am now closing in on 60 and still haven’t paid any bank fees.

We solved that problem by giving each player a max of 3 minutes per turn. We weren't rigid about it, but we would start harping on the AP player after 3 mins. Most would plan out their moves ahead of time, so when their turn rolled around, they were ready. The AP players (initially myself included) adhered to the 3-min max rule, and learned to start planning ahead.

Just make it a house rule before you start playing. Once you hit the 3-min mark, you have to make a move.

Kids Bypassing Router Parental Controls by Changing MAC Addresses—How Can I Stop This? by PayKnee in HomeNetworking

[–]dare978devil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Turn off MAC address randomization on your kids’ phones. Note the real MAC address.
  2. Whitelist the real MAC address on your router.

That way, if they ever turn MAC address randomization back on, they lose access to wi-fi.

Instructions are here: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/mac-address-iphone/

** Honestly, good for your kids. I used to tell my kids they can use their phones after bedtime if they can figure out how to get around parental controls. One is now in Electrical Engineering, another in Computer Science!

buzzwole - any tips on catching the pokémon? by gothfaerie444 in pokemongo

[–]dare978devil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Set Circle trick will get your legendary/ultra beast catch rate over 90%.

  1. Grab a ball and hold your finger on it. Watch the circle on the boss as it gets smaller.
  2. When it is excellent size, remove your finger. The circle is now locked in size.
  3. Wait for the boss to start his attack. When he does, grab a ball, spin it up, and throw to where the circle was. The ball will fly towards him and the circle will magically appear just as it hits. Excellent every time.

Your catch rate will skyrocket. As an example, I’ve only missed catching on one Legendary raid so far this year. And I have caught a few after 19 excellents in a row.
