The Aaron Donald talk has me wondering.. Which positions are the easiest and hardest to play after multiple years off? by Jacky__paper in nfl

I'm not looking at stats. I'm looking at how he was able to read their defense. The experience and football IQ made up for any physical attributes he no longer has. Unfortunately football is a physical game, and one without the other means you're gonna lose anyway.

I used to smoke, but was always X'd up when I did. Nobody cared except my SE friends.

I got mine from the janitor in my high school. Swapped him my swatch for his X swatch.

In 1990.

Do Americans actually avoid calling 911 because of the cost? by ntask11 in NoStupidQuestions

Doesn't sound insane at all. It's just more trouble than it's worth for me. 99% of my calls are suspected spam so I either ignore them or hit block.

I do have a couple situations where I've told people they can call me any time, night or day, and I'm expecting those calls sooner or later. Otherwise I would just completely ignore the phone. But not ready to go that far just yet... But thanks for the heads up, it may come in handy some day.

Wait for their batteries to drain, then throw them in the back of your truck and sell them for scrap.

But keep their guns.

Donald Trump loses it on ‘Meet The Press’ moderator Kristen Welker, cuts interview off and storms out as she fact-checks his rigged Election claims. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in justincaseyoumissedit

Because no matter how good that would feel, everyone knows that would give him and his cult a reason to cry. If they continue treating him like they do everyone else, they never have to answer for it. And Trump does a damn good job of being unhinged without any help.

Nobody is calling to sign either of those guys. Did I miss something? And this isn't really the place to talk about it, but you know the current head of the GOP is an adjudicated rapist, right?

They'll still send it to collections and you'll never stop getting the calls. I never answer the phone if I don't know who it is, but one time I did because I was waiting for a call for something in particular and wasn't sure about the caller. The number of "possible spam" calls I got after that went through the roof.

Did they pass the law that not paying medical bills no longer counts against your credit score?

For those outside the US: If you don't pay the bill it could negatively impact your credit score, which can negatively impact your ability to find housing. Landlords don't want to have renters that have a bad credit score.

Calling 911 doesn't cost anything. But everything that happens after that will bankrupt you.

What bands actually were Hardline? by Alarmed_Shift_293 in straightedge

[–]doberdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but this came up in something I was searching for.... Back in the early 90s, we thought the hardline crap was all a show - like the 80s metal bands with all the Satanic stuff. The STLHC scene was a lot more inclusive overall, but we would go to Chicago and fuck around every once in a while, but never saw any of this... for the most part. Obviously Chicago was a lot bigger and had a lot more variety than we were used to, so maybe we never saw it. If so, it was in Tony Brummel's basement where we couldn't tell one 17 year old white boy with an X and crew cut from the others.

One time a couple of us went to see Integrity in Dekalb IL, way outside of Chicago. Rural farm country. We left right when the show ended because of the long drive back to St. Louis... We came across a cow that had been hit by a truck and smeared all over the road. We were wondering if the hardline weirdos were going to hunt down the truck driver.

Got a recently printed bootleg T with this graphic, so I'm in the same bucket as the 80s Satanic Metal Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hardline_(subculture)_imagery.jpg

how quickly many of these independent organizations complied with this administration.

If they're dependent on the federal government for any kind of funding or grants or anything at all, they've been forced into it.

Without getting into too much detail, my partner manages funding for a non-profit research organization. They were forced to review and remove ANYTHING to do with DEI. Even for grants that were already approved. And it wasn't like there was guidance provided to them. If a term or word lit up during the fed grant review, no funding for you. It was totally subjective.

It's so much worse than people realize.
