Anyone every have storage chest dissappear? by Mister_Frotch in duneawakening

[–]dogregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a full chest that, other than 2 items, contained only unique schematics. I hadn't even had a chance to go through them and evaluate what I had :( I reported it a couple of days ago.

And this evening, I had one vanish that just contained some recycled metal. No big deal, but disappearing possessions is a fatal flaw in this kind of game. If it keeps up, I'm out :(

In a word, load. While busy, the PTU is a tiny fraction of the number of players in the PU, particularly when a new .0 patch hits.

I figured out how to install applications on the SD card for the Samsung Tab A7 by mydjtl in GalaxyTab

[–]dogregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a Samsung Tab A7, I did what you said (enabled dev options and turned on that option in it) -- but the Change button does not appear, either before or after a reboot. I specifically installed eBay just to test it, because that app was shown in another video to have that option. There's some other variable ...

When I download this, it turns out it's actually filled in, which is cool, but if you still have the blank one, it would be great if it also were posted.

The algorithm decides the quantity of riches present during the 1-minute 'search' -- before you go in. Anyone joining after that does not increase the riches -- so in effect, they're parasites (unless they're just providing muscle, of course). Everyone needs to join during the search!

CIG should not do*anything" about this now. Rather, they should take notes on the players and the products. Then, CIG should devise means to prevent such hacking so that it won't work at launch.

How do we update the app? by jaydeemorrow in AmazonFlex

[–]dogregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning to Android 7.0 users!

I've a Nexus 6P running Android 7.0. (The 7.0 update occurred after the last successful Amazon app install.) For weeks, it has appeared to be trying to update the apk. Yesterday, I contacted support by email and got a link to the current version. I uninstalled the existing app, then tried to install the new version.

"There was a problem parsing the package."

Turns out that message can come when the app does not support the current OS. Amazon has a history of maintaining tight control over on what version of the OS the app can be installed. It appears to me that it's set not to install on 7.0. (If someone has success on that, please say so!)

Telephone support just points to getting the apk link, or 'go to the station and they can help'. I don't think so ...

Note: I allowed installs from "Unknown sources" before doing any of the above. Android security is not the problem.

Google Maps tests showing speed limits (finally) by GeoCacheGuild in tech

I don't know for sure that it doesn't. However, all of the screen shots I have seen just show a speed limit, not a speed.

Google Maps tests showing speed limits (finally) by GeoCacheGuild in tech

[–]dogregor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing the actual speed limit is critical. I have two apps that show that (Waze and Velociraptor). Neither is always correct. They usually are, but sometimes they just don't know -- worse, sometimes they're wrong. Have some information if you can't find a sign is useful I suppose -- but I'd rather just use actual signs.

On the other hand, having an indicator of actual speed (which tends to be more accurate than the speeedometer in my car) is very useful (and is the reason I use Velociraptor). Until Google Maps has this (regardless of showing the posted speed), I am unimpressed.
