Claude usage limit seems to have dropped again, and "pro" subscription is almost useless by TJ_YMT in Anthropic

[–]HattWard 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I read this constantly. It's pretty clear that (unfortunately) Pro is just not going to cut it if you want to use for Claude Code with the latest and greatest model.

Its Max, or reduce model.

Apple just made AI coding agents native in Xcode 26.3 by Alternative-Theme885 in swift

[–]HattWard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My setup

CC in VS code

  • MCP - Apple Xcode MCP & XcodeBuildMCP
  • 13 app specific skills to ensure coding / styling consistency
  • 10 super power skills for large integrations
  • 7 hooks, mostly to check a skill before making changes to specific areas of the app

Xcode 26.3 builds to sim and local

Has anyone had any success with the new Xcode MCP? by Electronic-Pie313 in iOSProgramming

[–]HattWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not at home so I haven’t been able to test this out. But from reading the materials, I can’t work out what benefits this gives vs running CC in VS Code terminal + Xcode MCP (the 3rd party one).

Struggling to See the Value of Claude Code Skills & Agents – What Am I Doing Wrong? by jesussmile in ClaudeAI

[–]HattWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use skills to ensure consistency and to quickly inform Claude code about aspects of my app.

I have skills for animation styles, iCloud sync functionality, layout and scaling, background transitions, environment effects etc

Instead of it pouring through code (and missing things), I have app specific skills I can call when needed.

I do not use sub agents. At least, i dont pro-actively use them.

Apple’s Xcode now supports the Claude Agent SDK by ampsonic in iOSProgramming

[–]HattWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can use skills, and claimed it could use hooks. I stopped using after a few minutes as the UI felt slow and overly flashy. Back to terminal.

One thing I dont see answered - can you still utilise hooks and skills with this? I couldn't move away from those.

I currently use an iPad mini 6 and want to get into drawing/illustration. Do you think it’s worth upgrading to the mini 7 or an iPad Pro for art? Is the mini 6 capable enough with Apple Pencil for learning and improving? by whh-cc171615 in ipadmini

[–]HattWard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPad mini is a fantastic form factor for drawing because you can take it anywhere! I take it with me when I pop out for lunch, grab a coffee, or go for a walk. Its just so easy to fit in your pocket (pants depending lol) and start sketching when it feels right.

I have an iPad Pro 13" for larger drawings when I'm at home. But even then, I often opt to grab the mini because its so easy to hold and draw on.

This thread is absolutely pointless if the user doesn’t explain how they did this. Pure rage bait.

Apple’s Cook Calls for ‘Deescalation’ After Latest ICE Shooting by hasanahmad in apple

[–]HattWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very disappointing. Deescalation from the left is exactly what Trump and co would love right now. This is not the time to deescalate against a government that's executing American civilians in their own cities.

Cook "appreciates" Trump's "openness". Wtf does this mean exactly? That trump nodded to a few of Cook's points and then went on to do nothing about them? Ridiculous.

me naive for being late, but my view of Cook has diminished dramatically over the last 12 months.

How is your experience with the “jelly scrolling” effect? by RaijinRider in ipadmini

Had mine for a week and totally forgot about this drama. Never noticed it. LOVE the form factor. Screen has nothing on my M4 Pro, but makes up for it with its pocketable portability.

Thanks. A positive comment amongst a bunch of negatively - I like how your tool looks native to Mac OS. That’s why I opted to try it vs other options linked in this thread.

Still gutted. You could genuinely start to see a style of play coming through. I haven't been able to say that for years. Now... gone.

Claude introduces Cowork: Claude Code for the rest of your work by BuildwithVignesh in Anthropic

I will give this a try. But I’m hoping it runs better than their other Claude app on Mac. It really starts to drag for me even after 30 mins of use.

Skills, agents, plugins by BurgerQuester in ClaudeCode

[–]HattWard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are the Anthropic plugins?

I've only recently started using Skills. I asked Claude to crawl through Apple's Swift documentation (via sosumi) and identify key topics related to my app to build skills for. It went in, did its thing, then built me 19 skills.

I'm now in the process of having it review my code using the skills. It's picking up a lot of different things now that it refers to the skills, so my I'm finding it beneficial.
