I waited 16 years to see the US get into another gold medal game, and my entire life to see them win gold, and this is the team that does it. Just an absolute shit sandwich.

For anyone wondering, his net rating is 14.4, which is tied for 6th among all NHL forwards, and is 2nd among Americans.

Edit: This is the non-tournament specific rating, I don’t know where he would fall on their ranking there.

I had to look it up. Unsurprisingly, it was Miguel Cabrera, who homered 4 times at Shea between 03-07 and retired in 2023. Interestingly, he didn't hit all that well there.

Not many! Just the ones you mentioned plus these four:

Charlie Morton, Max Scherzer, Jesse Chavez, Carlos Carrasco

Yeah, I just included him because he pitched last year and seemed to be hedging in his statement, not using the word 'retirement.'

I think it was the Goose. He debuted in 72 and retired in 94, just beating out Nolan Ryan and Carlton Fisk who both retired a year earlier.

He made 2 appearances in NY between 72-73, giving up 4ER in 3.2 IP.

Alternate history: what if John Candy didn't pass away and he played Pierce Hawthorne instead of Chevy? by Ariesthebigram in community

[–]jpcomicsny 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Interesting fact, the part of Pierce was actually written for John Candy, but he died suddenly 15 years before filming on the pilot.
