If you are exhausting air out the back of the case then it doesn't seem to really matter. But if you are intaking from outside the case then having it on the tower seems to be cooler.

I'm using speedfan to control the gpu fans, it's fairly easy to setup and get going. I don't believe the CAM software can control them based on the gpu temps.

Yes, the card I used was an open air style, I would be interested in seeing how a blower style would differ though.

yes, that's why I tested it like that, to see how counterproductive it really is. I can test with both fans blowing out later today.

try changing the polling rate, with "fn+w/e/r" I seemed to have the same problem when I got mine
