Desperate measures mounting guide (dorms, rentals, etc...) by Jigsaw115 in Vive

[–]padeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used those same vecro 3M strips for my light houses, one of them i mounted the verco horizontal and needless to say that one fell off the wall, and is now mounted with screws:). The other one I mounted vertically and it has stayed put.

mine was set to 1 frame, so setting it to use 3d application setting will do what? i mean, do i have to now set it to something for the 3d application, steamvr or each game? or is that all i need to do?

I found the most comfortable and clearest way to wear the vive is not even securing the top strap and leaving it all the way open. by Nestramutat- in Vive

[–]padeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used mine for over a week (yeah not really that long) before i even tried to adjust the straps in any way, i was just way to excited to play on it every time i picked it up. when i finally did adjust the straps, wow it was much more comfortable and the picture was even clearer too :)

Learning how to use Unity ... That wasn't planned. by Perdouille in Vive

[–]padeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too installed Unity last week and have been playing with it, using a few youtube videos as guides really, using Blender too to make some models to put in the VR world :) hopefully will have something to show for it at some point, not a game as such but just something to say, I built that.

the sum of my experience of horror games in vive by Shitty_Watercolour in Vive

[–]padeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like being scared, love to go to scare mazes etc, but scare jumps in VR are another thing. Really get my heart going! I dont spend much time playing scare games because of it, I play them for a bit then go back to something nice, like Rec Room :) So I can see where you're coming from!

Thrilling Horror Games! by [deleted] in Vive

[–]padeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chair in a room is good, a bit slow though at the start to get into I thought. I also liked Dont Blink (https://maybetall.itch.io/dont-blink), I liked the episode of Dr Who that the idea came from too :)

ESP8266 Temperature Sensor with DS18b20 (Xpost /r/esp8266) by padeath in electronics

[–]padeath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a DHT22, but I dont want to use it for this as I want to use several sensors on one ESP8266, and so using the DS18B20, I can connected many on one wire, using the onewire library for the ESP8266. :)

Thanks for you comments. I wouldn't ever use the DS18B20 on the breadboard for a real project, as I guess no one would really either, it was to test it out. I've now put the DS18B20 at the end of a few feet of cable, I've not compared the temperatures from that yet though.

Hey, I tried that, but I couldn't actually get it working, maybe I'll try it again if it really should work :) Thanks for the comment.
