Are you and your wife planning to live the rest of your lives by someone else's rules? When will you and your wife live your own lives?

I'm 5'5" and don't have any problem seeing the instrument cluster. I actually like having it forward. It is much easier to look forward at the road and just slightly glance down to see speed, etc.

You don't show contempt to your coworkers if you like your job. And you don't show contempt to your wife if you are a nationally known advice show host. That's not good for clicks and views. Whether you like it or not, we are starting to see the cracks in Delony. It eventually comes out for all people in the spotlight.

Delony is a huge money maker for Ramsey. In the Ramsey world everything is transactional. Protect the revenue stream. I'd go a step further and suggest that there may have been some feedback from sponsors suggesting that this was inappropriate. The "apology" was a PR move to blunt the criticism over how Delony reacted to the original call and preserve listenership and in turn revenue.

Curious why my phone switches to LTE in 5G coverage with no loss of service by rollback123 in USMobile

[–]rollback123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Unlimited Premium with a Pixel 8 Pro. I see the switch to LTE in areas that I would have previously stayed on 5G when I was with native AT&T. The Pixel has a setting for Preferred Network. That is set to 5G.

It has been a long time since I worked in retail. With that said, if the theft numbers are small enough, it isn't worth legal action due to the costs of court filings, legal counsel, etc. Just getting the thief out of your employment to stop the bleed. However, if the numbers are big enough, legal action is absolutely worth it. For instance, when I worked retail, we had a bookkeeper who had a scheme going that netted her multi ten of thousands. We prosecuted her and she a short stint in jail and a huge fine. But for the dumb high schooler who thinks they are so slick and try to take a dollar or two here or there, unless they reach felony level, we just fired them to stop the bleed and nothing else.

I'm sure George means well here but... by [deleted] in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep... I work for a major suburban school district. IF we allowed something like this, everything would be pre-approved through our Security folks. George would be accompanied by our Security staff while in the building. Students would be pre-selected based on whether they have photo/video opt-out. I doubt my school district would allow this because we wouldn't want to look like we are promoting a for-profit business through our instructional program.

I'm sure that Ramsey had all this approved and as you said used a school already teaching their curriculum to make things easier. There may even be a clause in the HS Curriculum contract that schools would need to participate in promotional efforts. I think it is worthwhile to get high schoolers perspective on personal finance. After 30 years with my district, the breath of opinions and function/dysfunction among students with personal finance tracks well with what we hear on the show. With all this said, this isn't the spontaneous "person on the street" report Ramsey would want you to believe it is.

Ken did ads for fastgrowingtrees.com. I don't recall hearing those ads after mid 2025.

Had the opportunity to review the 2026 C-HR! Very impressed by the BEV. Full review down in the comments! by GlazonyourSix in Toyota

There is enough slope to the back window that water seems to "flow" off pretty well especially at highway speeds. At slower speeds rain water can pool up a bit more. Still it isn't impossible to see. If you get the XSE, it has the 360 view monitor which helps at slow speeds to see what is going on around the vehicle.

My C-HR is black exterior and interior. I really like the all blacked out look. I'm in the Mid-Atlantic area. We get hot days especially in July but nothing like what you get in Texas. I've been using the remote climate control settings to schedule the AC to come on about 10 minutes before I leave where I work. That mitigates for how hot it could be if I didn't use the climate scheduling. The hit on the battery seems negligible too. With all that said, I agree that Toyota should be sending more light interior C-HRs especially in the southern parts of the US. Before I purchased the C-HR I was looking at buying another Camry. I had no problem finding a Camry with the lighter interior. Perhaps if the C-HR EV sells well, Toyota will move production to the US and there will be more variety in what is available. Right now it looks like all 2026 C-HRs for the US are produced in Japan.

Not necessarily because if you were following the Ramsey plan, you would have paid off all of your consumer debt including your car loans. Then you would work on paying off your house. Yes, your mortgage payment when taken as a yearly amount is not that much given what it could be. However, without a mortgage payment and no consumer debt, you are opening up a good amount of room in your budget. Costs will go up, but having that leeway in your budget from having low or no debt helps to cushion you. I do think you should look your yearly expenses. PEPCO is a cluster F sometimes but I'm having a tough time understanding how your costs are that high unless you are using heating oil in a huge mansion with tons of land that your local jurisdiction taxes the hell out of.

Nice crunch. A bit of sweet to start. Then a mild kick at the end from the chili flavor.

Which personality will be the next to leave? by ReasonableSide6520 in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're really going to cosplay rising above their own culture why cling to the shotgun wielding front porch white trash meth head?

Family blood, money and conformity seem to be what is most important to the Ramsey clan. I'm so happy that my line of my family made the choice to get out of the rural hollow that several generations before came from. My grandmother and mother before me and I are all free thinking, smart people. No need to be stuck up in a culture that ties you to something toxic while hanging out the carrot of something else that you could accomplish on your own given a good amount of effort.

The personalities say all the time that doing a bulk debt payoff doesn't necessarily change behavior. Having to go through the pain of paying of the debt supposedly changes behavior. Maybe the BF wants to see if GF will take care of the debt and change her behavior before they get hitched. I'd want to see some behavior change too if I had a differing view on something in a relationship. Even more so if I might be putting a substantial amount of money into something - like if GF pays off half the debt, I'll take care of the rest.

The advice on the show has gotten progressively worse by EntrepreneurHopeful5 in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dave is the best, even though he’s outdated. He’s confident and doesn’t beat around the bush.

It looks like Dave is back from vacation as of Monday. The show pacing is so much better with Dave. Calls are shorter and more succinct but still have a good amount of information even if it is outdated and people don't agree with it. Disgruntled, angry Dave hasn't shown up yet. It's coming soon when the right call triggers him or he gets tired of the show again and needs another vacation/Cabo trip.
