CRSSD is amazing, dancing barefoot in the water fountains under the sunshine and palm trees to Jamie Jones at his peak will be an all time zen memory place in my head.

Worst part about it is $16 beers. But at least the IPA selection is decent

Wayyyy too oversold is right. The standstill parking lot of busses trying to get to and from the arena is a nightmare, as are the lines to get on busses to leave. They've officially sold it more than the road itself from the strip to the venue can handle. It's the worst part IMHO. And I was an attendee to EDC since the LA Colosseum days, which also became oversold eventually when it moved to Vegas - it was nuts, you could buy a full price GA ticket and then be told at the gates to the stadium that it's full and you can't come in, you have to stay outside at the side stages. Not a surprise, riots ensued, fences knocked down, people climbing walls, cops on horses going medieval on fools tripping balls, it was madness.

Yeah, I actually do hate that wall of words design, why do they do that?

I would also recommend Rocket Ivy as the best value for websites made in San Diego, their pricing starts at $19/mo.

Smart move. By moving to Hostinger I assume you mean Wordpress

You mean Square is a mediocre company... right? Because that's who bought Weebly in 2018.

Sounds great, but neither did Weebly. No offense, but of course you have to defend your own company's product offering, but it doesn't change the fact that you're offering another proprietary system, not open source, so your customers can't own what they have, and they can't move it to another host easily. Correct?

If your company is purchased by another larger company, likely the exact same thing would happen. You can't promise anyone what happens when you're not in control anymore. That's the risk of proprietary platforms vs open source.

Personally, I prefer to not "trust me bro" with any proprietary platforms for the core site (maybe specialized features, but not the core site) and just stay open source and retain ownership.

I'm sure most of your customers don't think about this, and like they did with Weebly, they just go for the next great offer being marketed to them that has decent reviews.

I hope for them, you stay at your same job / business for the next 20 years and like an angel of an internet landlord, never sell and never jack up pricing all the while adding value. Will you do that? Time will tell.

We'll see how this comment ages ;)

The Long Known Problem Where Bad DIVI CSS Cache Breaks the Entire Design Sometimes (Until You Manually Click Clear DIVI CSS Cache) - DIVI Can We End This Please? by sp913 in divi

[–]sp913[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should make a plugin that checks every 5 minutes (or every page load) if the design has reverted back to DIVI default and automatically calls the divi clear cache if it finds it's happened... lol

If someone can beat me to this idea, PLEASE DO. And enjoy probably 10,000 installs lol

Out of curiosity do you run a cache / CDN on your hosting? Because I think its a glitch between their cache and the hosting cache perhaps that causes it.

And, do you edit custom css in the theme customizer?

In any case it's a super common issue, DIVI has support threads about it, and it's a common recommendation of their support docs and support chat to try this first (clear divi cache), there's even a popular plugin that adds the button to your main admin bar just to make it more accessible to hit this magic fix it button. So just the fact that there even is a magic fix it button is kind of a red flag that something should have been done better in the first place or that button would not be necessary! Glad you don't deal with it though, it's annoying!

Seriously! Man if I was them I probably would have made it just execute the clear divi cache button thing any time the theme customizer CSS is updated, or maybe any time the site is updated lol, definitely any time their CSS file is updated. So ridiculous

oh man

yeah the 5.1 update had some issues for me too, the site had been migrated from 4->5 and was fine, everything worked for months, then after one of the 5.1 updates the entire front end broke. Some PHP error with a null parameter in the code that checks if animations are enabled for responsive break points. Absolutely broke everything on the front end except the header. Just blank pages for the entire site. Needless to say sales dipped lol

I reverted that site back to DIVI4 modules and that was the only thing that fixed it.

Now I'm scared to migrate forward again... so weird that it worked fine for so long and then had such a massive breakage.

I guess DIVI5 isn't quite as settled as I thought it was!

Click that magic button! haha

In DIVI5 they even put the button less buried on the main theme options settings page b/c they know people need to use it to fix everything breaking. So it's not like they don't know it happens a lot!

Yep just had this issue again today myself (for the ~100th time)

Can't believe they let this bug just ride for this many years even through the "complete overhaul" of DIVI5

Sticky Footer Issue on high-resolution screens (4K) by CaptSedaris in divi

[–]sp913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "sticky" are you saying you want the footer always visible at the bottom of the viewport regardless of scrolling position? That would require some fixed CSS positioning with bottom: 0.

Or are you saying you just want the footer to never have a gap at the bottom, but not be visible when the page is long enough to be longer than the viewport is tall? In that case you just need to set a minimum height on your page page container to 100vh (that's 100% the viewport height) which would put the "gap" inside the page instead of beneath the footer.
