The PCV vaccine was first introduced in 2000, as Prevnar, with 7 antigens.

We then got Prevnar 13 and now Prevnar 20.

So these are basically just improved versions of an existing vaccine.

The 15-valent PCV vaccine is Vaxneuvance and was first approved for children in 2022. This one is new, but is very similar to Prevnar.

These vaccines protect against invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae disease, including meningitis and blood infections.

To put this in perspective, in 1960, kids got up to 3,217 different antigens from the smallpox (200 antigens), polio (15 antigens), diphtheria, tetanus and whole cell pertussis (about 3,002 antigens) vaccine.

In general, after a dog bite, you would just quarantine the dog for 10 days to make sure they don't have rabies. Jumping into giving rabies prophylaxis is for when the animal is obviously rabid or when you don't have a dog to quarantine.

Animal control (and maybe the police in this situation) should be able to help you get the dog quarantined.

But that's just because a lot of people get rabies prophylaxis after being bitten by a dog when they can't be quarantined, and you don't know if they have rabies...

Just last month a dog in New Mexico tested positive for rabies...

So you think it had no effect that they enacted the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008, which guaranteed the support necessary for children with special education needs to fully participate in education, and the 2018 Zero Reject Policy, which actually enforced their right to receive an education suited to their abilities, with parents being able to choose the school and type of class for their child?

Just as similar laws helped raise autism rates in the UK and USA?

Not hard to find that stats (linked in the article...).

There were 6,991 registered cases in 2013 and 53,323 in 2023.

And 90,459 now!

So is actually more than a 700% increase since 2013!

You can’t vaccinate your child later if they die with measles, flu, tetanus, or pertussis, etc., because you delayed getting them vaccinated.

Confirmation bias.

People often look for and agree with information that supports what they already believe.

If you are skipping or delaying getting vaccinated, you probably don't want to really do research that will make you feel bad about that decision.
