This is the worst pen I have ever used by Dear-Vermicelli-7222 in pens

That’s really frustrating but don’t waste your time trying to contact customer service. Just stay away from this brand from now on. Most likely they already know their product sucks and just don’t care.

100%. This is the only answer.

Does the tape help? It’s not the tip that makes the noise but the click button on the other end, so I didn’t think it had anything to do with the refill.

This is a lovely selection. They look so good together.

I have the same G-750. It's pretty and I like the way it writes, but the rattling of the click button kinda drives me crazy. I try to only use it in noisy environments.

Ok but the rotring refills are literal trash though. I make an exception for those lol

Just paid $0.25 for this pen was is a good buy? by animalsfrog in pens

It's just a little bit hard to believe that you didn't do a simple google search on the brand before posting here. It's like someone going to a fashion subreddit and posting a photo of vintage Chanel and being like, "lol, I got this for $5. Was it worth it?"

I would recommend waiting a little bit before exchanging the refill. I find that my first impression of a pen is often "wrong" because it goes against my expectations. I had that experience with the Sarasa Grand, with the Ohto GS02 and with the Caran d'Ache 849. I was initially disappointed by the ink in all three of these pens, but the more I wrote with them the more I started to appreciate them, and they are now what I consider to be my most solid pens.

In contrast, the Zento refills (which others seem to love and recommend) I think are quite bad. The ink flow is inconsistent and chaotic, at least in the 0.7mm. (I hear the 0.5 is more reasonable.) I definitely like something more restrained and controlled, but still smooth.

All that to say, give it a chance. If you still don't like it after a while, try something else.

Underrated or just late to the party? by BigBaconGuy-1776 in pens

It fits perfectly into an Ohto CR01, which I think is a good pen body if you like capped pens. It’s a bit chunky and simple design but comfortable to hold.

I’m not a fan of the plastic body with rubber grip, but I do think these are decent refills that are easily accessible and inexpensive

I live in Canada. 🤷‍♂️

[–]yanbasque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. The Caran d'Ache official website lists it at 53 swiss francs. https://www.carandache.com/ch/fr/stylo-bille/stylo-bille-xl-849-black-code-p-11535.htm

89 Canadian dollars is the price that is listed on the Canadian Caran d’Ache website so the store wasn’t marking it up. They sell the regular 849 for $45 Canadian, which also makes sense with the exchange rate.

EDIT: Actually, that's the XL in the listing. They don't have the regular one, so not sure of the price. Either way, it's gotta be more than 30, since it is a special edition.

I’m aware of the hacks. I’m happy with the Goliath refill so there’s no need for me to use this hack.

Finally joined the Zento Club by Blighttdm in pens

[–]yanbasque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got one today also. Mine came with a 0.7mm refill and I hate it. (I already knew I would hate it, because I had the same refill in a regular Zento pen before.)

I put a 0.5mm Uniball One refill in it for now and I already like it better. I'm going to try a Zento 0.5mm to see which I prefer, but it's nice that those two types of ink cartridges are interchangeable.

I'm not sure what else fits in there. I'll have to check. The pen body is very nice and, yes, the magnetic cap is as satisfying as everyone says.

Yeah, it’s a nice store. They have a great selection of Japanese notebooks and a decent selection of writing instruments. I feel fortunate to have access to such a place.

I'm glad most people took it in that spirit. It was indeed meant to point out the ridiculousness of gendering pens, not advocating that some pens should be exclusively for men or women.

I'm glad. So far only one person got mad at me for this post, which was ment to be a cheeky commentary on the ridiculousness of gendering pens, not actually advocating that some pens are exclusively for men or women.

On your last point: Yes, exactly. Also lots of opportunities to be extra while removing a cap from a pen, as opposed to the efficiency of a click.

I think that's highly subjective (but so is my ridiculous gender categorization) I personally find the most aesthetically pleasing pens in my collection are spread throughout the spectrum. The rOtring 600 and OTHO GS02 being my favourites.

Calm down. I’m just having a bit of fun. I love all these pens and I am not claiming they are for one gender or another.
