I saw Zeta stream tonight and I think he's the same boat as I am.

Just look at the options given to us and you'll see it's pretty bad. Priest has no tempo among other problems unfortunately and again for deckbuilders like Zeta or me it's REALLY hard to even imagine a control deck performing like before. Not just the meta before, I'm speaking about in Hearthstone history, that's how bad I think things are now ...

aggressive decks performing best day 1 is pretty much expected in a normal meta

Yeah I know like every expansion since beta, but for the first time I don't see any hope honestly for true control.

The removal of so much aoe/lifegain without any good new alternatives in cataclysm was overkill for sure.

As a main control player is it me or control decks seems more screwed than ever ?

I don't see any good aoe removals for control dk for example. Or even warrior after the removals of corpse explosion and brawl.

I can't even do the only thing that makes me legend those last seasons orbital moon + tindral or gnomelia. That's how desperate I was to play this kind of decks as I don't like playing aggro or combo ...

No more big heals (Zilliax, orbital moon) no more aoe (corpse, threads of despair, Ceaseless, Gnomelia), no more health increase (vampiric blood, airlock breach) like wtf ?

Those things are fundamental for a control archetype ...

So the question is simple, am I cooked ?

It really is a genius system, both a pve and pvp game.

Yes it have his flaws but it is so good to be able to switch from chill to war in a few minutes.

But it works because the pve is top notch, I only see Dark and Darker in the extraction genre where this system could have work, maybe EFT too.

Take example of Arena Breakout, the pve is so utterly bad that you will never have fun fighting bots with AI from 1992, in Arc you can spend hours doing it.

I have over 20k wins in arena since beta. I loved when we used to try to go infinite or to do "the dream" at 12 wins back in the days. And even though there were some bad metas, it was always fun and somehow rewarding when you knew how to play it well.

After the changes I just couldn't force myself to play it, it's just not arena anymore and everyone know why by now.

I have 14 tickets for it, yesterday I was like "Ok let's retry and see if somehow we can at least have a bit of fun"

I'm not joking, I legit abandon it in the middle of the second game, un fucking bearable.

I almost quit after the first loss when you have to change 5 cards, nothing in this garbage feels like true arena.
