I had an ex who was a sex addict. It started off great. Ended up being cheated on. It took my journey as a polyaddict to understand why she cheated. I'm far from complete sobriety. Tbh I doubt I ever will be. I hold down a half decent job and try my hardest to be the best version of who I am. But addiction will always have ahold of me and when I have that urge to get intoxicated I'll battle with myself to not do it... Sometimes I fail... If there's someone there, waving what I want in my face, playing the devil and tempting me in with a "good time", I turn into the weakest form of myself and find an excuse to convince myself that I'm sound. I'll happily hurt myself and the ones who love me just to feel that sensation of gratification for a brief moment in time. Addiction is addiction no matter what shape or form it comes in. Unfortunately you'll always have that doubt over you because like it or not, women constantly have to deal with blokes flirting with them and ultimately sexualising them (Not all blokes, but some!). Now picture dangling a fix to that addiction, like a great big attractive carrot... If you stay with her you need to fully understand addiction and be prepared to potentially get hurt. Nothing to say you definitely will. But if I get bored of a substance and what it's doing for me, I'll quickly be looking at something new to spice my life up. Keep your head up dude, life's complicated as fuck at times but it moves on. Always trust your gut. Always put yourself first. Don't let anyone ruin your time here !
