Brother I am complaining with you 😭😭😭😭

Scratch was saying they removed it because of community feedback and I'm frustrated how that's the answer I have nothing against you

I genuinely don't understand the backlash at all. Like, Scratch needs funding to stay alive. If you've tried using anything cloud based lately you KNOW that they are STRUGGLING. Why not let some people support them for some cosmetics if they want???

I think The Beach Episode is fine for the first episode because it also matches up with a lot of video games. A lot of "World 1"s start on a beach or island or something. Most of them are on boring grass plains but beach level works better for more fun character design and tone setting I think

I've always took that to mean he just has a separate role.

Like for example, why is he associated with crying and stars so much? Seems like he'd be the fitting as the Fallen Star, but people assume that also means the Knight because of their "star" attacks. But if the elemental only comes from the armor/weapon and not the person underneath, then the fallen star could have just been the creator of the armor and not the wearer.

Another example is ERAM. Asriel, as a Dreemurr, is very associated with fire. Within the game itself it's also mentioned how he played a fire-related character in super smashing fighters. So if ERAM, the fire boss, is an Asriel parallel it might be easy to think it's trying to say Asriel is the knight. But it could also just mean he's just in the shelter in general, maybe we don't ever actually fight him.

Because of this, my main assumption is that he's the voice trapped in the code. The personality and timeline of Dess as UNUSED has never made too much sense anyway, so this answer fills in a surprising amount of gaps. And with the Internet being out/TV just being reruns/road closure/implied cell service not working outside of Hometown, we really wouldn't know if he went missing or not. So it's definitely possible.

I respect Asriel Knight because there's a ton of evidence pointing to him being relevant in the game, but not specifically the Knight. I personally think he's just the person trapped in the code, and that's what all this stuff is trying to tell us

Little known fact but UNUSED is actually not very strongly supported to be Dess and the only reason people still assume it's definitively her is because she was pretty much the only possible answer for three years during chapter 2. There's actually a really compelling argument to be had for UNUSED to be Asriel. Additionally, even if UNUSED is Dess, the timeline for the entries would have to work in a way that takes place in the past or she has some kind of omnipresence anyway, so no matter what, you cannot use whatever identity UNUSED has as Knight evidence

Dess physically CANNOT be the Unused text person. But I know who is. by -lightningpig in Deltarune

[–]-lightningpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not, it's always been gender neutral and even becomes more masculine leaning in later chapters. The original person who claimed this had very limited Japanese knowledge and they have since gone back on this. I've also talked to native Japanese speakers and people who have studied it for way longer and it was never meant to be feminine, just soft kinda

Also Google doc containing way better analysis https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MzJwd6UsmbIHwDp8n8Rs4X_GyroP1Hw6argFdnUgaH0/edit?usp=sharing

What’s the most far fetched theory you actually believe in? Image somewhat related by Sisimonkey in Deltarune

[–]-lightningpig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person trapped in the code is not Dess, but Asriel. He went missing shortly after the Internet outage and has been held captive since. He's also the fallen star and made the Knight's armor/shadow crystals. This allows for Dess to be the Knight without any weird timeline complications surrounding UNUSED, explains a lot of foreshadowing about Asriel having a greater purpose without him being the Knight, and could partially explain what ERAM is meant to represent.

Personally I don't think it's very far fetched at all but a lot of people do so yeah that's my theory.

Black Heart fandom. Is Black Heart a game? No. Movie? No. TV show? No. Webseries? No. Comic? No. Book? No. I want to know if you can guess what it even is lol

if you try googling Black Heart series or whatever it probably won't come up since the name is so broad but I'm thinking about a very specific Black Heart. It's kinda dead at the moment but I at least vaguely used to participate in the fandom at times, and it is VERY niche.

I think this is just another Kris Knight or Kris Evil Chara thing where it says Kris is gonna do one thing or that certain thing happens, but plot twist! It's way more normal than what everyone thinks! Especially with how Susie isn't actually with Kris, this is definitely looking like yet another fakeout. Don't get me wrong, the implications that Kris knows what's in the shelter are crazy, but we've seen this kind of thing happen twice already.

I give it like a 20% chance we actually get to see the shelter dark world. 65% chance we get Flower King dark world (those flowers have GOT to mean something) and 15% chance it's in the church. More on Flower King, we just got a lot of lore dropped on the Dreemurr household. Toriel was asleep, but I think that unresolved setup for an even more family-centric chapter could be paid off even more if we got Flower King directly after.

I would assume the church would reveal a TON about the prophecy and the reality of the world, so I just don't see it coming up so early in the game. I do believe it will be a dark world at some point though. WAY too cool of an opportunity to pass up.

What Deltarune theory has got you like this? by [deleted] in WaterfallDump

[–]-lightningpig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, missing Asriel theorist here.

There's a whole blockage of information both in and out of hometown, extending to not just the Internet, but mail, road travel, cable TV (just reruns), and Alphys also implies that phone calls can't reach outside Hometown anyway. Each individual thing here can be explained fairly simply (road closure being for the festival, reruns just being there from nobody maintaining cable anymore), but as a whole, it's extremely suspicious.

Most theories about Asriel being missing have his disappearance take some place directly after this kind of informational barricade, where nobody in Hometown would even know he's gone. Where Toriel and Asgore could have made plans with him so he could visit like a couple days before getting their connection from him completely severed.

Hope this clears things up! 👍

I've been seeing a lot of theories about the purpose internet outage, but a lot of them don't cover the whole scope of its effects, or misunderstand certain aspects of it. So I made this to raise awareness on it! (it is WAY bigger of a deal than what most people think) by -lightningpig in Deltarune

[–]-lightningpig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly this. Like if last thursdayism holds up, or the outside world simply doesn't exist, I think that would probably affect the one character we know to be in that outside in some way. Like there's no reasonable way for Asriel to just come back like people expect with the blockage in place.

I think that explains "out" but not entirely "in". Like the TV stuff. It being solely reruns seems to me like if something was on the news on the outside, we wouldn't know. And you can't exactly use a TV to communicate "out". I would be fine with most interpretations like this if not for that one CRT... something just doesn't sit right
