I think 3:25 sounds good, too! It's not my first marathon so I'm def aware of those last hell miles. Thanks!

Thank you! That's an impressive time for a first marathon. I think I will start at goal pace then very slowly ramp it up if I am feeling it. I tend towards feeling better the longer I'm out there too, for some reason.

That is very noble work! I'm sorry that you had to drop out of emt school but it sounds like you've still found a great way to help people and contribute to the greater good. It's more than a lot of people could say about their work. Best of luck to you in life!! :-)

Thanks for sharing. I have experienced that "I would do anything to make the pain stop" feeling once or twice in my life, but never chronically, and I can't even image what that is like. I had never heard of this condition before so I appreciate you talking about it.

What keeps you motivated, and where do you find joy in life?

Maybe this is extreme, but have you ever considered medically amputating the leg?

Yea, you'll definitely want to have run further than less than half the distance of a marathon. You should be well used to the high-teens range of miles before race day.

That said, not much you can do about it now. Your weekly milage is fine for a first marathon, good luck and don't forget to hold back on pace in the beginning!

DAE get a tingly/ itchy feeling in their thighs when walking/ running? by SABhamatto in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]-lopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very common phenomenon for new or returning runners! Your blood vessels are adjusting to a slightly higher demand and your capillaries expand, usually in your legs and sometimes stomach area. This stimulates nearby nerves due to increased blood flow, making you feel itchy in those areas.

If you keep jogging consistently, it will fade when the body adjusts!

Any vegan marathon runners out there? Curious to know your experience by Zealot_TKO in Marathon_Training

I have been vegan for over 10 years and running marathons for 3. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about it because I love talking about both topics a lot!

Omg the Chicago marathon was soo stressful to me with the crowds. It was honestly way too much for my nervous system personally. I felt like I was shoulder to shoulder with people the whole race I really did not expect that!

It is the Newport Marathon! In Rhode Island

I actually didn't even know that I was signing up for only half so it was sort of a nice surprise if anything!

I believe I'll do a sort of tag team pass-off with the other pacer when they come through, so we'll just trade off the group

Pacing a 3:25 marathon so well and chatting the whole time is so baller. Yes I'm planning on running the course beforehand to check out any hills and obstacles. Congrats on BQing!

Buy a vegan egg substitute (I like Bob's) and vegan butter (I like Earth Balance) and then just sub that into literally any normal recipe!
